Moreno (adductor) hit in a batting cage Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Tuesday marks the first time Moreno has swung a bat since he landed on the injured list Aug. 6 with a left adductor strain. The 24-year-old backstop still isn't expected to return to the big-league lineup until well into September, but seeing him resume activity is certainly a positive sign.

Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Takes batting practice
Walker (oblique) participated in batting practice Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
After a few days of hitting off a pitching machine, Walker has now checked off another box in his hitting progression. It's unclear if he will require a rehab assignment before returning to the active roster.

After signing with the Giants in February, he has recovered and spent the 2024 campaign with Triple-A Sacramento, where he has a 4.95 ERA overall. However, the 28-year-old has not allowed an earned run in his last eight outings and boasts a 1.54 ERA since July 14. Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Taking seat Tuesday
Freeman is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
The 34-year-old suffered a hairline fracture in his right middle finger Aug. 17, and he'll head to the bench for Tuesday's contest while in the midst of a 3-for-23 slump. It hasn't been reported that Freeman has suffered a setback, and he may just be getting a bit more time to recover after playing through the injury for the past week-plus.

Brewers' Gary Sanchez: Not in Tuesday's lineup
Sanchez isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Tuesday's game against San Francisco.
