Gonsolin (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

It will be the right-hander's first game action since he underwent Tommy John surgery in September of 2023. A return for Gonsolin before the end of the season has not been ruled out, but if it happens, he would be used in a relief role. The 30-year-old posted a 4.98 ERA over 20 starts for the Dodgers in 2023 prior to surgery.

Roupp will start Tuesday's game against the Brewers, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

It will be the first major-league start for Roupp, who fired 61 pitches over four scoreless relief innings in his last appearance Thursday versus the Diamondbacks. The righty has split time between the rotation and bullpen this season at Triple-A Sacramento, but he hasn't gone more than four frames in any outing in the majors and minors in 2024; therefore, he'll be relatively limited from a workload perspective.

Pirates manager Derek Shelton said Tuesday that Hayes (back) has yet to resume baseball activities, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Hayes landed on the 10-day injured list more than three weeks ago with a back injury that has nagged at him for much of the season. Shelton also noted Tuesday that, as of now, offseason surgery for Hayes is not under consideration. However, the third baseman is clearly not close to returning, and at this point it's fair to wonder whether he will make it back at all this season. Jared Triolo has been operating as the Pirates' everyday third baseman since Hayes went down and will continue to hold down that spot.

The Cardinals will call up Saggese from Triple-A Memphis prior to Tuesday's game against the Reds, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

St. Louis has yet to announce corresponding transaction, but Brendan Donovan (foot) has been banged up lately and may require a stint on the injured list. Saggese had a so-so first three months with Memphis this season but has slashed .291/.351/.524 with 12 home runs over 55 games since the start of July. The 22-year-old has mostly played shortstop this season but could get regular run at second base if Donovan needs to miss some time.

Rosario started at designated hitter and went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 1-0 win over Atlanta.

Rosario, who started for the eighth time in the last nine games, is getting plenty of opportunities but doesn't hold much fantasy value. Since joining the Reds in the middle of August, Rosario is batting .205 (9-for-44) with a home run, three RBI and six runs scored. Where may be useful is in steals; the utility infielder has swiped three bags in 16 games for Cincinnati and 13 for the season.

Espinal started at second base and went 0-for-4 in Monday's 1-0 win over Atlanta.

Espinal, who has been seeing regular duty at third base, moved over to second to cover for the injured Jonathan India (elbow), who was removed from Sunday's contest and absent from Monday's lineup. Espinal is 4-for-21 over the last six games, but his second-half body of work remains strong -- he's batting .358/.402/.514 over 33 games since the All-Star break.

Fraley went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 1-0 win over Atlanta.

Fraley continued a recent stretch of larceny, swiping his fourth bag in the last seven contests. The recent surge upped his season total to 20, the second consecutive campaign with at least 20 steals.

Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs and a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Cubs.

Ohtani moved a little closer to the majors' first ever 50-50 season by recording his 47th theft of the campaign. The slugger also has 46 homers, putting him in reach of the historic mark with just under three weeks remaining in the regular season. Ohtani has recorded a home run and/or a stolen base in seven of his past 12 contests and is slashing .280/.339/.640 with five long balls, seven steals, seven RBI and 14 runs during that span.

Betts went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and a walk Monday in a loss to the Cubs.

Betts put the Dodgers on the board with a run-scoring single in the fifth inning and added a two-run shot to left field in the seventh. The All-Star right-fielder has hit safely in nine straight contests, collecting four multi-hit efforts over that span. During the hitting streak, Betts is slashing .394/.459/.909 with four homers, 12 RBI, nine runs and a stolen base.

Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two total runs and three total RBI in a 10-4 win against the Dodgers on Monday.

The Dodger Stadium crowd cheered Bellinger when he came to bat in the first inning, and the former Dodger responded with a two-run blast to right field. He added a run-scoring single in the ninth frame to round out a productive night. Bellinger has collected at least one hit in six of his past seven contests and is slashing .333/.429/.625 with two home runs, five RBI, five runs and a 4:4 BB:K over that stretch.
