Gray (13-9) earned the win Thursday over the Reds, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out nine.

It was another excellent outing from Gray -- the right-hander's now held opponents to one run in each of his last three starts (19 innings) while posting a 20:3 K:BB in that span. The veteran right-hander's lowered his ERA to 3.75 on the year with a 1.07 WHIP and 195 strikeouts (10 shy of a career high) across 160.2 innings. Gray will look to keep rolling his next time out, currently scheduled as a home matchup with the Pirates next week.

Kinley earned the save in Thursday's 4-2 win over Detroit, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

Kinley found himself in some trouble, allowing a pair of Tigers to reach base before ultimately striking out Zach McKinstry to strand the tying runs aboard. The 33-year-old Kinley took over the closer role in Colorado when Victor Vodnik landed on the IL in late August and has now converted six straight save chances. It appears that Kinley may have earned a more permanent grasp on the ninth-inning job as Vodnik, who was activated earlier in the week, was used in the seventh inning Thursday.

Feltner didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Detroit, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out six.

Feltner has now turned in back-to-back strong outings, allowing three runs on just five hits across 11.2 innings in that span. The right-hander's lowered his ERA to 4.89 on the campaign with a 1.39 WHIP and 127:47 K:BB across 27 starts (143.2 innings). Feltner's currently on track for a home matchup with the Diamondbacks early next week.

The Marlins placed McMillon on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right elbow tightness.

McMillon threw just two pitches and gave up a single before his injury forced him out of Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh, and he will now be forced to sit out until at least Sept. 27. The 26-year-old righty owns a 1.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across 12 innings in the majors this season, but given the fact Miami has already been eliminated from the postseason, the Marlins likely won't be in any rush to bring him back.

Benson is day-to-day after X-rays on his left middle finger came back negative, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Benson was injured Thursday in St. Louis when a pitch hit his finger on a bunt attempt. He has managed to escape with merely a contusion and is considered day-to-day heading into Friday's series opener at Minnesota.

Conine is absent from the lineup in Thursday's contest against the Nationals.

The Marlins are facing a lefty for the second day in a row, and Conine has been on the bench for both contests. Kyle Stowers is in left field and David Hensley is in right for Miami.

Sanchez is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Nationals.

It's lefty Mitchell Parker on the hill for the Nationals, so the left-handed-hitting Sanchez will begin this one on the bench. The Marlins are going with Kyle Stowers, Cristian Pache and David Hensley in their outfield.

Edwards is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

It marks three games in a row that Edwards has been absent from Miami's lineup. He did receive two plate appearances off the bench in Wednesday's game versus the Pirates, so it seems as though Edwards is available. The switch-hitter did return from a back injury earlier this month, so this appears to be a situation where the Marlins are just being cautious with their young infielder. Otto Lopez is at shortstop in Thursday's series opener.

The Marlins designated Bermudez for assignment Thursday.

In two appearances since being selected from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Bermudez allowed four earned runs across three innings while striking out one batter and walking two. He'll now give up his spot on the 40-man roster for Jeff Lindgren, who was selected from Triple-A in a corresponding move, and Bermudez will most likely pass through waivers unclaimed.

Benson was removed from Thursday's game versus the Cardinals in the sixth inning after a ball struck his fingers on a bunt attempt, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Benson squared to bunt with two on and no one out but had his left hand wrapped around the barrel of the bat and his fingers caught the brunt of a Sonny Gray pitch. To add insult to injury, Benson was charged with a strike on the play rather than a hit-by-pitch. He's surely headed for X-rays and should be considered day-to-day until his status is updated. Benson struck out in his lone plate appearance before exiting.
