Stallings is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cardinals.

After going 2-for-6 with a double and walk while starting both of the first two games of the series, Stallings will cede catching duties to Hunter Goodman in the finale. The two backstops seem to be part of a timeshare at the position, with rookie Drew Romo representing a lightly used No. 3 option.

Atlanta doesn't plan to start Sale again until it is facing elimination, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Sale had been scheduled to start Wednesday versus the Mets before the game was postponed. Atlanta will go with Max Fried on Friday against the Royals but isn't listing starters yet for Saturday or Sunday. Sale could potentially start as soon as Saturday but could be held back as late as Monday for the rescheduled doubleheader versus the Mets.

Burleson is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies.

The Cardinals are facing a lefty in Kyle Freeland for the second day in a row, and the left-handed-hitting Burleson has been on the bench for both contests. Burleson hasn't made a start against a southpaw since Aug. 6 and looks to be viewed as a pure strong-side platoon player at this stage of the season. Ivan Herrera will replace him as the Cardinals' designated hitter.

Siani is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Colorado.

Siani will get a day off after he started both of the first two games of the series. Victor Scott will occupy center field and bat ninth for St. Louis as it goes for the sweep.

Donovan is out of the lineup for Thursday's contest in Colorado.

Donovan had started each of the previous 12 tilts but will get a breather for Thursday's matinee. Thomas Saggese will hold down second base and bat sixth for the Cardinals.

Arenado is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Colorado.

Arenado will get a day off in his old stomping grounds after going 2-for-9 with one run scored in the first two games of the series. Jose Fermin will handle third base as the Cardinals attempt the sweep.

Doyle is absent from the lineup for Thursday's tilt against the Cardinals.

Doyle returned to action for the last two games after missing the previous three contests with a knee issue, but he will sit out Thursday's matinee. Sam Hilliard will occupy center field as the Rockies try to avoid the sweep.

Rodgers (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cardinals.

Rodgers has now missed three starts in a row with left hamstring tightness, though he had indicated previously he did not expect to face a long-term absence. Aaron Schunk will get another start at second base in Thursday's series finale.

Yorke is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers.

He will give up his spot in the Pittsburgh infield to Liover Peguero, who draws a second straight start at shortstop while Nick Gonzales serves as the Pirates' second baseman. Yorke had been included in the lineup in eight of the last nine games while picking up starts at second base, third base, right field and left field and batting .259 with a home run and two stolen bases.

Ohtani went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's win over the Padres while also drawing a walk.

Ohtani walked in his first trip to the plate and advanced to second on a wild pitch from Dylan Cease before then scoring the Dodgers' first run on a Teoscar Hernandez single. The superstar slugger continued to come through in the clutch throughout the contest, giving Los Angeles the lead with an RBI double in the fourth, and again in the sixth with an RBI single while also going on to swipe his 56th bag of the campaign. Ohtani has now hit safely in eight straight games, batting .558 (19-for-34) over that stretch with six homers, 17 RBI, 12 runs and eight stolen bases. He's also registered multiple hits in four of his last six contests.
