Sheets went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run in Saturday's Cactus League win against the Guardians.

Sheets capped a six-run first inning for San Diego with a three-run blast to right field. It was his first homer and third extra-base hit over 26 at-bats this spring, but he's batting just .154 with a 1:7 BB:K. Sheets is in camp as a non-roster invitee and is competing for one of the Padres' final roster spots.

Darvish pitched 2.2 innings in a Cactus League contest against Cleveland on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three batters.

Darvish allowed a double and issued a walk in the first frame but emerged unscathed on the scoreboard. He breezed through a 1-2-3 second inning but struggled in the third, yielding three singles and hitting a batter with a pitch to allow two runs to score before being lifted with two outs. Despite Darvish's unimpressive results, the Padres were likely pleased with his outing, as he tossed 57 pitches, induced seven whiffs and averaged 94.3 mph on his fastball -- up from the 93.9 mph he averaged last year -- in his first game action of the exhibition slate. The veteran right-hander is slated to work as San Diego's No. 3 starter this season.

Glasnow pitched three innings in a Cactus League contest against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out six batters.

Glasnow pushed his pitched count up to 53 pitches (33 strikes) in the outing while averaging 96.4 mph with his fastball. The only run he allowed came on a solo homer by Miguel Vargas in the second inning. Through three Cactus League starts, Glasnow has given up three runs on six hits while posting a 10:1 K:BB over six innings.

Bohm went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against Toronto.

Bohm took Blue Jays right-hander Bowden Francis deep in the third inning, homering for the third time in just 21 at-bats this spring so far. The 28-year-old corner infielder has driven in 97 runs while batting at least .274 in each of the past two seasons, making him a relatively safe option in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts as part of Philadelphia's potent lineup.

Nimmo (knee) received a gel injection Friday and will remain out of baseball activities for the next one to two days, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Diagnosed with knee inflammation, Nimmo hasn't played in a Grapefruit League game since Feb. 28, his only appearance of the spring to date. He had planned to ramp up his running to 100 percent Friday but was only able to get to 85 percent, according to manager Carlos Mendoza, so the Mets are delaying his return to the field. "We're still shooting for Opening Day," Mendoza said. "We feel like we have enough time here for him to get plenty of at-bats. Once we get closer to Opening Day, whether he's not running 100 percent, he's not getting at-bats or he's not doing any baseball activity, then we'll probably have to start having some of those conversations. That's not the case as we sit here."

Reynolds (foot) isn't expected to be on the Padres' Opening Day roster, Sammy Levitt of 97.3 The Fan reports.

Reynolds is dealing with a stress reaction in his right foot and hasn't yet been able to pitch this spring. He was expected to compete for a spot in the Padres' Opening Day bullpen coming into camp, but it appears the injury will prevent him from having that opportunity. It's not yet clear when Reynolds will be able to get back on a mound.

Hoeing (shoulder) isn't expected to break camp with the Padres, Sammy Levitt of 97.3 The Fan reports.

Hoeing has dealt with a sore right shoulder throughout camp and hasn't yet pitched in a spring game. The right-hander began playing catch near the end of February, but it appears he won't have enough ramp-up time to be ready for Opening Day. Hoeing is expected to work in long relief when he's healthy after coming out of the bullpen in 32 of 34 regular-season appearances last season.

The Phillies optioned Lazar to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

Lazar was in the running for a spot in Philadelphia's Opening Day bullpen after registering a 4.61 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 13.2 innings with the big club last season. However, he will ultimately miss the cut after surrendering seven runs over 3.2 innings this spring. The 25-year-old could still return to Philadelphia sometime this season if/when the Phillies' bullpen depth is tested.

The Marlins optioned Serna to Double-A Pensacola on Saturday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Serna appeared in six games at Triple-A Jacksonville at the end of last season, but the Marlins will send him back to Double-A to begin the 2025 campaign. The 22-year-old infielder went 4-for-7 with a home run, three runs scored and a stolen base in the Grapefruit League, and he may not have to wait long to return to Triple-A if his hot bat follows him to Pensacola.

The Marlins optioned Fulton to Double-A Pensacola on Saturday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Fulton missed all of 2024 while recovering from his second career Tommy John surgery. His return to a competitive setting yielded promising results, as he'll finish the spring with two strikeouts over three scoreless innings. Once he proves he can remain both effective and healthy for an extended period of time, he could receive his first promotion to Triple-A Jacksonville.
