Sanoja isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.

Sanoja will take a seat Thursday after going 1-for-7 with two walks, a run scored and a steal during Miami's last series against Philadelphia. Graham Pauley will start at third base and bat eighth while Sanoja sits for the series opener in Queens.

Riley is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Nationals.

Riley had started to heat up around the All-Star break, but he's just 6-for-37 with a 2:20 BB:K over his last 10 games. Mauricio Dubon will handle third-base duties while Riley gets a day to clear his head.

Young is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Marlins.

It marks two straight games on the bench for Young, though the first of those was the second game of a doubleheader. Brett Baty is covering first base for the Mets in the series opener versus Miami.

Dunn will undergo surgery on his right elbow Monday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Dunn has been on the shelf since late June due to a right elbow sprain, and he suffered a setback last week shortly before he was scheduled to begin a rehab assignment. The Reds haven't given an updated timeline for the 27-year-old's return, though his procedure will almost certainly rule him out for the remainder of the season. Dane Myers figures to continue working as Cincinnati's primary center fielder while ceding an occasional start to TJ Friedl.

Lodolo (finger) is scheduled to throw live batting practice Friday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Lodolo is expected to throw roughly two or three innings during Friday's session, marking his first time facing live hitters since landing on the injured list July 12 with a finger blister. Lodolo has been experimenting with a new grip for his breaking ball in an effort to minimize the risk of future blister problems, and he hasn't had any issues to this point with the new grip. He could require a rehab start in the minors before rejoining Cincinnati's rotation, though the Reds haven't confirmed any plans beyond Friday just yet.

Mathews is no longer listed among the upcoming probable pitchers at Triple-A Memphis and could join the Cardinals' rotation soon, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Mathews had been scheduled to start Thursday, but now he's not listed among Memphis' probables through Sunday. The left-hander could enter the Cardinals' rotation as soon as this weekend in Toronto, taking the spot of Dustin May, who is expected to be traded before Monday's deadline. Mathews has been on a roll at Memphis, authoring a 1.55 ERA and 59:19 K:BB over 52.1 innings since the beginning of June.

Scott allowed one run on two hits and struck out one batter over one inning in a 4-2 win over Seattle on Wednesday.

Scott had recorded a save in 10 of his previous 15 outings while serving as Los Angeles' closer, but Edwin Diaz was activated off the IL on Wednesday and ended up registering a save with a one-run ninth inning. Scott instead handled the eighth and gave up a run on a pair of hits (a double and a single), though his outing could have been worse if not for a highlight-reel catch by Teoscar Hernandez in left field. Scott has been stellar overall this year with a 2.47 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 56:6 K:BB over 43.2 innings, and he could still get occasional save chances when Diaz is down or when matchups call for the Dodgers to go to a left-handed reliever; however, for the most part, it appears Scott will primarily work in a setup role moving forward.

Snell (elbow) struck out nine and allowed one hit and no walks four scoreless innings Wednesday in a rehab start with Single-A Ontario.

After making his previous two rehab appearances at Triple-A Oklahoma City, Snell bumped down a few levels for his third outing in the minors. He hit his targets of four innings and 60 pitches (45 strikes) in the start, potentially setting him up to return from the 60-day injured list to make his next appearance out of the Los Angeles rotation. Snell will likely throw a bullpen session in front of the Dodgers' brass before his next step is decided, and even if he gains clearance to return from the IL, he'll be subject to limited workload in his first start back from the shelf. The veteran southpaw has been on the IL since May 15 after undergoing a NanoScope procedure to remove loose bodies from his elbow.

Turner went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to Miami.

The veteran shortstop has mostly struggled at the plate this season, but he's swinging a better bat as of late. Over 98 plate appearances in July, Turner is hitting .267 with six homers, three doubles, one triple and 14 RBI. For the season, he's still slashing an underwhelming .243/.292/.392 with 15 long balls, 42 RBI, 73 runs scored and 17 stolen bases across 469 plate appearances.

The Reds optioned Petty to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.

Petty pitched each of the last two days and threw 32 pitches over 1.1 innings in an appearance Wednesday, so he's being replaced by a fresh bullpen arm. The righty has collected a 4.50 ERA and 14:8 K:BB over 30 frames for Cincinnati this season.
