Francis Pena RP | SD
Padres' Francis Pena: Healthy again at Triple-A
Pena (undisclosed) made his season debut at Triple-A El Paso on April 9 and has given up two earned runs on one hit and four walks while striking out five over five innings through his first four appearances.
The Padres held Pena back at extended spring training to begin the minor-league season while he managed an undisclosed injury, but he's looked healthy since reporting to Triple-A. The 24-year-old reliever could make his big-league debut at some point later in 2025.

Anthony Bender RP | MIA
Marlins' Anthony Bender: Collects second hold
Bender gave up a hit in a scoreless eighth inning to record his second hold of the season in Tuesday's win over the Reds.
The right-hander continues to be a reliable -- if not exactly dominant -- high-leverage arm in the Marlins' bullpen. Bender has a 1.80 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 7:5 K:BB through 10 innings with one win and one save in addition to his holds, but he hasn't been called upon to protect a ninth-inning lead since April 1. Calvin Faucher and Jesus Tinoco appear to be the preferred closing options for manager Clayton McCullough at the moment.

Paul Blackburn RP | NYY
Mets' Paul Blackburn: Scratched from rehab start
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said that Blackburn (knee) has been scratched from his scheduled rehab start Wednesday at High-A Brooklyn due to a stomach bug, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.
Blackburn began a rehab assignment with Brooklyn on Saturday, allowing one run over two innings. He threw 38 pitches in that outing and had been set to get stretched out more Wednesday, but the righty's next start will be put on hold. Mendoza has said previously that he would like Blackburn to get his pitch count up to the 65-to-70 range before being activated, so he will likely need at least a couple more rehab starts.

Kyle Stowers 1B | MIA
Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Swipes bag in Tuesday's win
Stowers went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Reds.
The 27-year-old outfielder had a rough introduction to south Florida last year after being acquired from the Orioles, but Stowers is looking a lot more comfortable to begin his first full season as a Marlin. Through 22 games, he's slashing .307/.393/.453 with two homers, two steals, 11 runs and 15 RBI, and he's making some impressively consistent hard contact -- Stowers is in the 93rd percentile in barrel rate.

Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Set for season debut Friday
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Wednesday that McNeil (oblique) is on track to be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Friday's game versus the Nationals, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.
McNeil will play one final rehab game Wednesday before rejoining the Mets for their weekend series on the road against the Nationals. The 33-year-old is slashing .375/.444/.667 with two home runs and a 2:3 K:BB over 27 plate appearances in his first seven rehab games. McNeil is projected to be the Mets' primary second baseman but could also see some action in the outfield.

Francisco Alvarez C | NYM
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Poised to return Friday
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Wednesday that Alvarez (hand) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Friday against the Nationals, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.
Alvarez will play one more rehab game with Double-A Binghamton on Wednesday, and as long as he gets through that without any hiccups, he'll be activated Friday and likely in the lineup for the series opener versus the Nationals. The catcher is 7-for-35 with one home run in his first nine rehab contests. Alvarez is coming back from surgery on a fractured hamate bone in his left hand.

Nolan Gorman 3B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Set to receive regular playing time
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Tuesday that he plans to give Gorman a lengthy "run" of starts, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Marmol revealed the plan prior to Gorman delivering a go-ahead, bases-clearing double in the eighth inning of Tuesday's win in Atlanta. Brendan Donovan (rib) being banged up has allowed Gorman to settle in at second base and in the third spot in the lineup for a second straight day Wednesday, and Gorman has started five straight contests overall. Donovan is not expected to need a stint on the injured list, and when he returns Gorman could get at-bats in the designated hitter spot at the expense of Alec Burleson.

Quinn Mathews SP | STL
Cardinals' Quinn Mathews: Set to resume throwing
Mathews (shoulder) will resume a throwing program Wednesday or Thursday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
The top prospect was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Memphis last week with mild left shoulder soreness, an issue Mathews believe arose because his mechanics got out of whack. He's been doing resistance-band and weighted plyometric ball work and the resumption of a throwing program is imminent. It's not clear when Mathews might be ready to rejoin the Memphis rotation. He's struggled in the early going this season, holding a 6.10 ERA and 7:15 K:BB over his first 10.1 innings.

Nathan Church CF | STL
Cardinals' Nathan Church: Moves past injury
Church (undisclosed) went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored Tuesday in Double-A Springfield's 12-1 loss to Wichita after being activated from the 7-day injured list Monday.
Church made his 2025 debut with Springfield after an unspecified injury had kept him on the shelf to begin the season. The 24-year-old was cleared to report to Double-A after completing a four-game rehab assignment last week with Single-A Palm Beach, during which he went 2-for-13 with a walk, a stolen base, three runs and an RBI.

Weston Wilson 3B | SEA
Phillies' Weston Wilson: Ready for season debut
The Phillies activated Wilson (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
Wilson opened the season on the shelf after suffering a moderate left oblique strain early in spring training, but he's ready to make his 2025 debut with the Phillies after completing a 10-game minor-league rehab assignment. Between stops with Single-A Clearwater and Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Wilson slashed just .158/.304/.237 over 46 plate appearances, though some rust was to be expected after he didn't appear in any Grapefruit League games. Now that he's healthy, the right-handed-hitting Wilson could end up settling into the short side of a platoon in left field with the left-handed-hitting Max Kepler.
