Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's win over the Mariners.

The Marlins' offense was completely shut down by Logan Gilbert (forearm) to begin the game, but once he left the mound after the third inning, the floodgates quickly opened. Sanchez's homer, his first of the year, came as part of a six-run fifth frame against Casey Lawrence. Sanchez is still struggling to find a rhythm at the plate after his delayed start to the season, and through nine games he's batting .226 (7-for-31) with a double, a steal, two runs and three RBI.

Berti went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 4-0 win over the Phillies.

Berti has emerged as Chicago's primary third baseman following the demotion of Matt Shaw, and he's provided decent production with a .250 average for the season. The veteran's greatest asset is his speed, as he has seven stolen bases in seven attempts, and he could run more often now that his playing time has increased.

White went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI in Friday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Getting a rare start against a right-handed pitcher, White laced an RBI double off Zac Gallen in the second inning. White has seen his usage pick up over the last couple weeks as Atlanta looks for some production from its corner-outfield spots, and he's responded by going 6-for-18 (.333) in eight games (five starts) since April 14 with two doubles, a homer, five RBI and seven runs.

Crow-Armstrong went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 4-0 win over the Phillies. He also stole two bases.

Crow-Armstrong is displaying his strength as a base stealer early in the season, as he already has 12 swipes in 13 attempts and he's stolen two bases in each of his last two games. The youngster had 27 steals a year ago while batting only .237 with a .286 on-base percentage. Crow-Armstrong is batting .295 with a .339 on-base percentage so far in 2025, and he could fly past his 2024 steals total if he keeps reaching base at a higher clip.

Happ went 2-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI in Friday's 4-0 win over the Phillies.

Happ has been in a groove lately, as he's batting .356 over his last 10 games with a home run, six RBI and six runs scored. The veteran outfielder started slowly with a .222 average prior to his recent hot stretch, but he seems to be rounding into his usual form as a productive leadoff hitter for the Cubs.

Verlander (0-2) took the loss Friday as the Giants were downed 2-0 by the Rangers, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out five.

The 42-year-old right-hander delivered his second straight quality start on 89 pitches (65 strikes), but San Francisco's bats couldn't get going against Nathan Eovaldi and the Texas bullpen. Verlander appears to be turning things around, but on the season he still carries a 4.99 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 28:12 K:BB through 30.2 innings. He'll be in an excellent spot to collect his first win as a Giant in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Rockies.

Rogers retired all three batters faced to earn a hold in Friday's 8-7 win over Colorado. He did not record a strikeout.

Rogers earned his third hold and has not allowed an earned run in nine of 11 appearances. His name was included as a potential closer alternative this spring, but the Reds have settled on Emilio Pagan in that role for now. Meanwhile, Rogers is thriving in a middle-inning role, posting a 2.00 ERA over nine innings.

Yamamoto (3-2) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits and four walks over five innings as the Dodgers fell 3-0 to the Pirates. He struck out five.

In a battle of early NL Cy Young candidates, the 26-year-old righty couldn't match Paul Skenes as a Max Muncy error and Yamamoto's own shaky control ended his quality start streak at three. He tossed just 58 of 94 pitches for strikes, and the four walks were a season worst for Yamamoto. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend in Atlanta.

Santana gave up a hit in a scoreless eighth inning Friday to record his fourth hold of the season in a 3-0 win over the Dodgers.

The Pirates had said they were going to give David Bednar another look as the closer at some point, and that moment may have arrived -- Bednar pitched a scoreless ninth Friday for his second save of the year. Santana should remain in a high-leverage role given his 1.46 ERA and 0.89 WHIP through 12.1 innings, but his 7:3 K:BB hasn't matched the dominance Bednar is capable of when he's in top form.

The right-hander wrapped up the combined shutout with his first save since he re-joined the big-league roster last weekend. Bednar hasn't allowed a run in four appearances since his return with a 7:1 K:BB, and Dennis Santana worked a scoreless eighth inning Friday for his fourth hold, so the Pirates appear ready to give the 30-year-old another shot at the closer role.
