Brewers' Brian Fitzpatrick: Back in majors
The Brewers recalled Fitzpatrick from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.
Fitzpatrick has turned in a 1.13 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 16 innings at Nashville, and he's also performed well when called upon by the Brewers, allowing just one earned run in 5.2 frames. He'll now rejoin the big-league bullpen alongside Craig Yoho to replace DL Hall (pectoral) and Jake Woodford.

Craig Yoho RP | MIL
Brewers' Craig Yoho: Recalled from Nashville
The Brewers recalled Yoho from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.
With DL Hall (pectoral) landing on the injured list and Jake Woodford departing the 40-man roster Friday, Yoho will return to the majors to help plug the holes in Milwaukee's bullpen. The 26-year-old has dominated Triple-A hitters since first reaching Nashville in 2024, posting a 1.14 ERA and 0.96 WHIP and a 100:33 K:BB across 79 combined innings. However, he gave up seven earned runs over 8.2 frames with the big club last season.

Jake Woodford RP | CHC
Brewers' Jake Woodford: Designated for assignment
The Brewers designated Woodford for assignment Friday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Woodford helped save the bullpen by logging three innings in Thursday's loss to the Giants, but he gave up four runs in the outing and holds a 6.94 ERA on the season. The righty is likely to clear waivers, and he would have the ability to decline an outright assignment.

DL Hall RP | MIL
Brewers' DL Hall: Out with pec strain
The Brewers placed Hall on the 15-day injured list Friday with a left pec strain, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Hall had to leave an appearance Thursday against the Giants due to the injury, and an MRI revealed a strain. The 27-year-old lefty is expected to miss roughly 4-to-6 weeks, per Hogg, which lines him up to return right around the All-Star break.

Ryan O'Hearn RF | PIT
Pirates' Ryan O'Hearn: Not in Pirates' lineup
O'Hearn is absent from the lineup for Friday's contest in Atlanta.
The left-handed-swinging O'Hearn has homered twice and reached base six times in four games since coming off the injured list, but he will get a breather Friday versus Atlanta southpaw Martin Perez. Marcell Ozuna will be the Pirates' designated hitter, Jhostynxon Garcia will patrol right field and Spencer Horwitz will handle first base.

Taylor Rashi RP | MIN
Diamondbacks' Taylor Rashi: Scrubbed from 40-man roster
The Diamondbacks designated Rashi for assignment Friday.
The club needed to clear space on its 40-man roster for the addition of LuJames Groover. Rashi gave up three runs over 3.2 innings earlier this season with the Diamondbacks but has spent most of the year at Triple-A Reno, turning in a 1.03 ERA and 26:12 K:BB across 26.1 frames. He could draw some interest via waivers.

Jose Fernandez 1B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jose Fernandez: Dispatched to minors
The Diamondbacks optioned Fernandez to Triple-A Reno on Friday.
Fernandez's first stint in the majors resulted in a .255/.289/.352 batting line with three home runs, seven stolen bases and a 7:40 BB:K over 55 games. He's being sent out in favor of LuJames Groover.

LuJames Groover 1B | ARI
Diamondbacks' LuJames Groover: Called up to big leagues
The Diamondbacks selected Groover's contract from Triple-A Reno on Friday.
Groover is set to make his major-league debut after slashing .322/.421/.452 with three home runs, two stolen bases and a 37:43 BB:K over 56 contests for Reno. The 24-year-old has played both corner-infield spots at Reno this season, and the right-handed batter will likely see starts against left-handed hurlers.

JJ Wetherholt 2B | STL
Cardinals' JJ Wetherholt: Held out again Friday
Wetherholt (lower body) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Reds.
Wetherholt sat out Wednesday's game with lower-body soreness. It was expected that he would return to action Friday following the Cardinals' team off day Thursday, but the rookie infielder needs a bit more time. Bryan Torres will start at second base for St. Louis.
