Gorman is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

It's the first time since April 16 that Gorman isn't in the lineup against a right-hander when that game wasn't part of a doubleheader. The Cardinals are using Willson Contreras at designated hitter and Alec Burleson at first base Tuesday.

Winn (ankle) will start at shortstop and bat second in Tuesday's game versus the Pirates.

Winn departed the second game of Sunday's doubleheader versus the Mets with a mild left ankle sprain and didn't play in the series opener against Pittsburgh on Monday. However, he's ready to roll now and is back in the No. 2 spot in the batting order, where he's been situated for most of the past week.

The Reds recalled Richardson from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

The right-hander was optioned to Louisville on Thursday but will be able to quickly rejoin the Reds since Tyler Callihan (forearm) was placed on the injured list. Richardson has appeared in two games for Cincinnati this year and has allowed one earned run with a 2:1 K:BB over four innings.

Lowder (forearm) will begin a rehab assignment with the Reds' Arizona Complex League affiliate on Tuesday.

Lowder missed all of spring training with a right forearm strain but has been cleared to pitch in games after a long rehab process. The right-hander isn't guaranteed a spot in the Reds' rotation once he's deemed physically ready, although it will depend on how he's pitching at the time and what the major-league team's needs are.

Hope is slashing .272/.359/.485 with four home runs, four steals and a 25.4 percent strikeout rate in 27 games for High-A Great Lakes.

As the weather heats up in the Midwest League and he gets more acclimated to High-A pitching, Hope's numbers could tick up even further, but it's been a great start to the year for the Dodgers' top prospect. Hope produced at a similar pace last year at Single-A (.287 average, nine homers, eight steals) but was limited to 54 games due to a shoulder injury.

The Reds recalled Hurtubise from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

He's grabbing the roster spot vacated by Tyler Callihan (forearm), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Hurtubise made the Reds' Opening Day roster but was handed just seven at-bats over nearly three weeks before being sent down. He's unlikely to play much more than that during this stint.

The Reds optioned Zulueta to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

Zulueta had pitched two of the previous three days, allowing one run over 2.1 innings. He'll be replaced by a fresh bullpen arm in Lyon Richardson.

The Reds placed Callihan on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a fractured left forearm.

Callihan suffered the unfortunate injury when he slammed into the outfield wall while trying to make a catch Monday in Atlanta. According to Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News, the 24-year-old underwent surgery Tuesday and is expected to be shut down from baseball activities for 6-to-8 weeks, so he'll likely be sidelined until the latter stages of the regular season.

Bell (groin) is out of the lineup for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Guardians, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Bell hasn't seen the field since Friday due to the groin issue, and his absence will extend into Game 1 of Tuesday's twin bill. It's unclear if the veteran slugger will be available for the nightcap. James Wood is receiving another look at designated hitter while Alex Call starts in left field with Bell out.

Eldridge is slashing .316/.395/.474 with one home run, a 9.3 percent walk rate and a 34.9 percent strikeout rate in 10 games for Double-A Richmond.

He is in the midst of a seven-game hit streak. Eldridge spent the bulk of 2024 in the lower levels before getting nine games at Double-A and eight games at Triple-A to close the year. He was sent back to Double-A after dealing with a wrist injury for much of spring and made his season debut April 22. Eldridge will need to get his strikeout rate into a manageable range before getting the bump to Triple-A.
