After going 2-for-4 with a run in Friday's series opener versus the Halos, Smith will catch a breather Saturday while Dalton Rushing starts behind the plate and bats eighth.

Doyle isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus Arizona.

Doyle will get a chance to recollect himself Saturday after starting May with a .164/.207/.164 slash line through 58 plate appearances. Jordan Beck, Mickey Moniak and Tyler Freeman will start across the Rockies' outfield while Doyle sits.

Perkins has been on the injured list all season after fracturing his shin during spring training. He's eligible to return from the IL on May 26, though his inability to run on consecutive days makes it likely his absence will extend into June, especially since he'll presumably need to spend some time in the minors on a rehab assignment before being activated. With Garrett Mitchell (oblique) also sidelined, Daz Cameron and Jake Bauers have been picking up reps in Milwaukee's outfield.

Manager Pat Murphy said Saturday that Quintana will receive a second opinion on his left shoulder impingement, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The Brewers skipper said Friday that Quintana may be able to return from the IL after the 15-day minimum, though the chances of that happening may be in jeopardy now that the veteran lefty is looking to hear from another doctor. A clearer return timeline should emerge once he receives his second opinion.

The Pirates optioned Gorski to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

With Spencer Horwitz (wrist) returning from the injured list Saturday, Gorski will be sent back to the minors in order to clear space on the active roster. The 27-year-old slashed .195/.214/.390 with two homers, four RBI and two runs scored across 42 plate appearances during his time in the big leagues.

The Pirates reinstated Horwitz (wrist) from the injured list Saturday, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Horwitz has been on the injured list all season while working his way back from a thumb procedure he underwent in February to relieve some pain in his right wrist. He's been playing in rehab games since late April and has slashed .255/.294/.383 with two RBI and seven runs scored across 51 plate appearances. Now fully healthy, he's expected to take over as Pittsburgh's primary first baseman. Matt Gorski was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move.

Naylor isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Naylor will get a chance to catch his breath Saturday after logging three consecutive multi-hit games. Pavin Smith will fill the void at first base while Ketel Marte serves as the DH, opening up second base for Jordan Lawlar.

Murphy isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

Atlanta seems to have fallen into a pattern of alternating between Murphy and Drake Baldwin behind the plate, and Saturday will mark the latter's turn to start after Murphy went 2-for-4 with a home run Friday.

Stephenson isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

Stephenson has gone just 4-for-20 with nine strikeouts across his last five games and will step out of the starting nine Saturday, allowing Jose Trevino to start behind the plate and bat eighth.
