Doval (3-1) earned the win in Saturday's 1-0 extra-inning victory over the Athletics, allowing one walk while striking out two across one scoreless inning.

Doval entered the game in the 10th inning, throwing eight of his 14 pitches for strikes and setting up the Giants' offense to secure the win. The 27-year-old hasn't surrendered a run in his last 17 appearances since April 7, yielding just three hits over 16.1 innings during that span. Doval owns a 1.25 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and a 19:8 K:BB with six holds, five saves and two blown saves across 21.2 innings in 23 appearances.

Major League Baseball suspended Alvarado for 80 games Sunday due to a positive test for a performance-enhancing substance, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Alvarado has been a central part of Philadelphia's bullpen this season, posting a 2.70 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 25:4 K:BB over 20 innings while successfully converting all seven of his save chances. His suspension will now take him out of action until mid-August, and Alvarado won't be eligible to pitch in the postseason. Jordan Romano had already started getting more frequent save chances of late, and he'll likely receive even more ninth-inning opportunities with Alvarado out.

Rom (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with Single-A Palm Beach earlier this month and will be moved up to Triple-A Memphis for a start Sunday, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Rom missed the entire 2024 season with left biceps tendinitis which eventually required surgery, and he experienced a setback in February when he felt shoulder discomfort. The southpaw allowed just two runs (one earned) with a 13:0 K:BB over nine innings in three rehab outings with Palm Beach. Rom is no longer on the Cardinals' 40-man roster, but, if healthy, he could give the organization some much-needed rotation depth for a Memphis team that's dealt with its fair share of injuries.

Realmuto is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh.

Realmuto will begin on the bench after starting each of the previous two days and going 1-for-7 with an RBI in that span. Rafael Marchan will get the start behind the plate in Realmuto's stead Sunday.

The Brewers transferred Thomas (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

Thomas landed on the IL in early April due to arthritis in his left elbow. He received an injection later that month but isn't close to a return to action. Thomas has allowed 12 runs over 5.1 frames across two relief appearances during his time in the majors this season. His move to the 60-day IL cleared room for Easton McGee, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Nashville.

Milwaukee called up McGee from Triple-A Nashville on Sunday.

McGee last pitched in the majors in 2023 with Seattle, when he shined with a 6.2-inning, one-hit scoreless start. However, he suffered an elbow injury in that contest and subsequently underwent Tommy John surgery. The right-hander has pitched well in Triple-A this season, posting a 3.44 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 20:9 K:BB over 18.1 innings across 13 relief outings. He'll presumably fill a spot in the Brewers' bullpen while up with the big club. To make room for Easton on the 40-man roster, Connor Thomas (elbow) was moved to the 60-day IL, and Tobias Myers was optioned to Triple-A to clear space on the 26-man roster.

Myers struggled in a start against Minnesota on Saturday, allowing four runs on 11 hits over 3.2 innings. The right-hander is now being sent down to Triple-A to make room for reliever Easton McGee, who was called up in a corresponding move. Myers will likely be back with the big club at some point in the campaign, though his spot in the rotation was already looking shaky before the rough outing Saturday with Aaron Civale (hamstring) on the verge of returning from the injured list and Brandon Woodruff (shoulder/ankle) possibly soon to follow.

Philadelphia optioned Robert to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

Robert had just gotten called up Friday and walked three batters while allowing one run on one hit over one-third of an inning against the Pirates in his lone appearance. The righty reliever will now head back to Triple-A in order to make room on the 26-man roster for Mick Abel, who was summoned to the big club to make his MLB debut as a starter versus Pittsburgh on Sunday.

The Phillies recalled Abel from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

It was reported Friday that Abel would be called up to make a start against the Pirates on Sunday, and the transaction is now official. Abel has thrived in Triple-A this season with a 2.53 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 51:19 K:BB across 46.1 innings, but he may be in line for just a spot start with the big club. Though Aaron Nola (ankle) landed on the injured list Friday, Taijuan Walker is expected to re-enter the Phillies' rotation during the coming week.

Steer is not in the Reds' lineup for Sunday's matchup versus the Guardians.

It's a rare day off for Steer, who started each of Cincinnati's previous 23 contests. He slashed .258/.320/.416 with three homers and three steals during that stretch and is currently riding a six-game hitting streak. With Steer out of the lineup Sunday, Connor Joe is getting a start at first base.
