Friedl went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and a stolen base in Friday's 6-2 win over the Cubs.

Friedl led off the game with a solo blast and later swiped second base in the sixth inning. The 29-year-old is on fire, recording multiple hits in seven straight games and nine of his last 10 overall. He's contributed across the board this season, slashing .306/.390/.431 with four home runs, 20 RBI, 24 runs scored and nine steals over 242 plate appearances.

Fraley went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 6-2 win over the Cubs.

Fraley extended the Reds' lead to 6-0 with a 400-foot blast in the sixth inning. It was an encouraging sign after the outfielder missed three weeks with a calf injury, and he'll look to solidify a firm platoon role against righties. His season line now sits at .210/.326/.395 with four homers, 11 RBI, 13 runs scored and three steals across 95 plate appearances.

Rea (3-2) took the loss against the Reds on Friday, allowing six runs on 10 hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Rea was burned by three homers and struggled overall, allowing 10 hard-hit balls while inducing just five whiffs on 90 pitches. The 34-year-old has now surrendered six earned runs in back-to-back starts against the Reds after allowing no more than four in any of his first eight outings. He owns a 3.96 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 43:16 K:BB across 52.1 innings this season and will attempt to get back on track in a road matchup against the Nationals next week.

Ruiz isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Diamondbacks, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

Ruiz will get a chance to clear his head Friday after going 1-for-13 during Washington's most recent series against the Mariners. Riley Adams will catch for starter Jake Irvin and bat seventh.

The Diamondbacks designated Mantiply for assignment Friday.

The move makes room on the Diamondbacks' roster for Jeff Brigham, whose contract was selected by Arizona from Triple-A Reno. Mantiply was sent down to Triple-A on May 15 after posting a 15.83 ERA and 3.00 WHIP across 9.2 major-league innings. He hasn't fared that much better in Triple-A with a 5.56 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 11.1 innings.

The Diamondbacks optioned Ginkel to Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Ginkel has struggled out of the bullpen since returning from the injured list in late April. He has a 12.60 ERA and 2.10 WHIP across 10 innings this season, and those numbers are inflated by two outings in which he gave up a combined 10 earned runs. Ginkel will head to the minors to regain his form on the mound while Jeff Brigham comes up from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Betts isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Yankees.

After going 2-for-12 with an RBI and two runs scored during the Dodgers' last series in Cleveland, Betts will take a seat to begin a three-game set against New York. Miguel Rojas will start at shortstop and bat ninth.

The Padres selected Rodriguez's contract from Double-A San Antonio on Friday.

Rodriguez will make the jump from Double-A directly to the big leagues after posting a 3.22 ERA and 0.90 WHIP alongside a 31:5 K:BB across 22.1 innings at San Antonio. He'll replace Kyle Hart in the Padres' bullpen and is likely to work in middle relief to begin his MLB career.

The Padres optioned Hart to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.

The move makes room on the 26-man roster for Bradgley Rodriguez, whose contract was selected by the Padres from Double-A San Antonio. Hart was promoted to the majors to start against the Marlins on Wednesday and allowed five runs on six hits and no walks while striking out one batter in 4.2 innings in a no-decision. He'll head back to Triple-A, where he has a 3.07 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 12:12 K:BB across 14.2 innings.

Marte (illness) will start at second base and bat second Friday against the Nationals, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

Marte sat out Arizona's last two games while fighting off an illness, but he seems to be feeling better ahead of Friday's contest. The 31-year-old will look to remain scorching hot during his return after compiling a nine-game hitting streak before getting sick.
