Tovar was removed from Monday's game against the Marlins during the eighth inning for an undisclosed reason, Christian Saez of TheDNVR.com reports.

It's unclear at this time whether Tovar suffered an injury at some point earlier in the matchup. Orlando Arcia, who started at third base, bumped over to shortstop and Ryan McMahon moved to the hot corner as a result. The Rockies should have more information on Tovar's status after the game.

Manaea (oblique) threw 29 pitches in a live bullpen session Monday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.

The Mets will wait to see how Manaea feels following his latest bullpen to determine whether he's ready to embark on a rehab assignment. He's managed to throw several side sessions over the last few weeks as he continues to make his way back from a right oblique strain.

Verlander (pectoral) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Verlander is continuing to work back from a right pectoral strain, and he's set to throw another bullpen after tossing a 40-pitch side session May 27. If the right-hander is able to make it through the bullpen without any issues, he'll be set to face batters later in the week, per Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area, and the club could then consider activating him at some point over the weekend.

Ozuna is playing through a hip injury that he'll likely need to manage throughout the season, 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.

Ozuna's hip issue doesn't appear to be an immediate threat to him playing in the team's upcoming series against Arizona, but it's worth noting that he'll presumably receive more days off than usual as the campaign unfolds. "It's one of those things he is going to have to manage and get to the offseason," stated general manager Alex Anthopoulos. The veteran slugger has only sat out of three matchups this year, so it appears he's been successful in managing the injury to this point.

Glasnow (shoulder) continues to play catch, but body soreness has slowed his progress, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

Glasnow threw a bullpen session May 23, which ultimately resulted in some body soreness for the right-hander. The 31-year-old has been on the injured list since late April with right shoulder inflammation, and the team is still trying to figure out how and when to start ramping him back up. Glasnow was transferred to the 60-day IL on Saturday and he's not eligible to be activated until June 27, but the likelihood of him returning to action then feels slim.

Sheets (undisclosed) is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Giants.

Sheets was forced from Sunday's game against the Pirates after colliding with the outfield wall. He was set to be evaluated for various injuries, and it's not clear at this point whether a trip to the 10-day IL is on the table. Tyler Wade is in left field and batting seventh for the Padres on Monday, and Sheets noted before the game that he'll be available off the bench if called upon, per Dennis Lin of The Athletic.

Gomber (shoulder) will resume a rehab assignment with Double-A Hartford on Tuesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Gomber came down with soreness in his pitching shoulder during spring training and then had to be pulled off his initial rehab assignment in late March when the discomfort resurfaced. However, the southpaw is now ready to give it another try. He could rejoin the Rockies' rotation later this month if all goes well.

The Giants optioned Matos to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The move comes one day after Matos cranked a three-run home run in Sunday's win over the Marlins. He's slashed only .167/.211/.361 in 24 games this season and will look to get into a groove with regular at-bats at Sacramento.

The Giants activated Encarnacion (hand) from the 60-day injured list Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Encarnacion missed the first two months of the season after needing surgery to repair a fractured left hand in mid-March. The 27-year-old is not in the Giants' lineup for Monday's game against the Padres, but Encarnacion could displace the struggling LaMonte Wade sooner rather than later, either as the first baseman or as the designated hitter with Wilmer Flores moving to first base.

The Dodgers designated Stratton for assignment Monday.

Stratton made two appearances during his brief stint with the Dodgers, yielding two runs in three innings. The veteran reliever is likely to pass through waivers unclaimed, and if that happens, could elect free agency.
