Hilliard is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

After getting called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Hilliard was on the bench for the Rockies' loss to the Mets that day but started against right-handed pitchers in each of the ensuing three games. Hilliard recorded three hits and drew a walk over 12 plate appearances in those contests, but the Rockies aren't yet prepared to hand him a regular starting role quite yet. The 31-year-old finds himself on the bench for a second consecutive matchup with a right-hander (Cal Quantrill) in Wednesday's series finale.

The Reds transferred Lowder (forearm/oblique) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for lefty Wade Miley, who was signed Wednesday. Lowder originally went on the 15-day IL with a right forearm strain but more recently suffered a left oblique strain while on a rehab assignment. The righty remains shut down with the oblique issue, and it's unclear when he'll be ready to resume his rehab assignment.

Hiura will start at first base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

After being called up from Triple-A Albuquerque over the weekend, Hiura is now slated to get his third start in the Rockies' last four games. Hiura has gone 1-for-6 with a double and two runs since joining the Rockies and will likely need to continue hitting to solidify a spot in the everyday lineup.

Stallings will start at catcher and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Stallings will crack the lineup for just the second time in eight games, with both starts coming in day games after night games. The veteran backstop will likely continue to see infrequent playing time while Hunter Goodman is entrenched as the Rockies' No. 1 catcher.

The Reds re-signed Miley to a one-year contract Wednesday.

Miley opted out of his minor-league contract over the weekend, but he's returned to replace the injured Hunter Greene (groin) on the Reds' active roster and should slide into Greene's vacated rotation spot. The veteran left-hander missed most of 2024 following a hybrid UCL repair surgery and recently posted a 5.93 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 7:4 K:BB in 13.2 innings at Triple-A Louisville. Per Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News, Miley will be available out of the bullpen Wednesday, but he's lined up to make his first start for the Reds on Monday in Cleveland.

The Reds placed Greene on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right groin strain.

Greene was hurt during Tuesday's start against the Brewers. It's the same injury that caused him to miss much of May, although the Reds are still awaiting MRI results to see what the severity is this time around. Manager Terry Francona said Wednesday that Greene also dealt with a lower-back issue during Tuesday's outing which may or may not have been related to the groin injury, per Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News. Greene will be eligible for activation June 19, but the Reds might tread more carefully with him this time. Wade Miley has been signed to take Greene's roster spot and should also absorb his spot in the rotation.

Edwards is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

The Marlins are wrapping up their series against Colorado with a day game after a night game, so Edwards is likely just getting a breather after he recently made his return from the injured list. Since being activated Saturday after he was on the shelf for just under two weeks due to a mid-back strain, Edwards has gone 7-for-13 with a double, a walk, two runs and an RBI in four games.

Hicks is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

The left-handed-hitting Hicks will take a seat with southpaw Kyle Freeland on the bump for Colorado, but the rookie Rule 5 draft pick should have a clearer path to playing time versus righties after the Marlins recently dropped Matt Mervis from the 40-man roster. Hicks -- who started in three of the Marlins' previous four matchups with right-handers -- is slashing .276/.351/.469 with four home runs and 22 RBI across 113 plate appearances on the season.

Sanchez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

With southpaw Kyle Freeland starting for the Rockies, the Marlins will send Sanchez and Kyle Stowers to the bench to make room for a couple of extra right-handed bats in Javier Sanoja and Heriberto Hernandez. Sanchez started in the first two games of the series and went 5-for-8 with two doubles, two RBI, two runs, one walk and one stolen base.

Stowers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

The lefty-hitting Stowers will get the afternoon off while the Rockies send southpaw Kyle Freeland to the bump in the series finale. Javier Sanoja will pick up the start in center field in place of Stowers.
