Polanco went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Guardians.

Polanco had been ice cold coming into Wednesday's contest, going 0-for-26 in his previous eight games. However, he extended the Mets' lead to 2-0 with a solo home run off Tanner Bibee in the third inning -- for his second long ball this season and first since April 11 -- before adding a two-out double in the ninth. Polanco is now slashing .144/.202/.243 with five RBI and seven runs scored through 120 plate appearances.

Wetherholt went 1-for-3 with two walks, a two-run double and a run scored during the Cardinals' 3-1 win over the Yankees on Wednesday.

The game was scoreless heading into the fifth inning, but Wetherholt changed that with a two-run double to center field before being brought home on a ground rule-double by Ivan Herrera. Wetherholt has been scuffling a bit at the plate since the All-Star break with a .659 OPS in 19 games. He's still in the midst of a productive rookie campaign with a .739 OPS with 12 steals, 16 home runs and 43 RBI across 493 plate appearances.

Pallante (12-6) earned the win against the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and three walks while striking out four across 5.1 innings.

Pallante kept the Yankees off the board through his first five innings, though he was tagged for a run after being lifted in the sixth inning, when George Soriano issued a bases-loaded walk to Jazz Chisholm. Pallante has yielded three earned runs or fewer in five of his last six outings, and he finished Wednesday's start with 13 whiffs and eight groundouts on 103 pitches (57 strikes). His 12 wins are tied for fourth most in the majors this season, and he'll take a 3.63 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 124 innings into his next start, which is lined up for next week at home against the Phillies.

Kerkering threw a clean sixth inning with no strikeouts to pick up a hold Wednesday against the Nationals.

Wednesday's hold marked Kerkering's 13th of the campaign. The right-hander has been a quality high-leverage arm in Philadelphia's bullpen for the most part despite a lack of save chances, posting a 3.27 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 48:25 K:BB across 44 innings with a lone save in three opportunities during 2026.

Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Brewers.

Rodriguez has hit safely in seven of eight games since he returned from a glute injury. He's also homered in consecutive contests, giving him seven long balls on the year. The catcher is batting .269 with an .856 OPS, 20 RBI, 20 runs scored, six doubles and six stolen bases over 153 plate appearances. Henry Davis has hit just .206 since the All-Star break, so Rodriguez should have a leg up for playing time behind the plate.

Hill was diagnosed with a shoulder contusion following his removal from Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Hill collided with the center-field wall while trying to make a diving catch in the 11th inning. His shoulder appears to have taken most of the damage, though interim manager Don Mattingly said after the game that the team still has some tests to run on Hill and will know more about his health before Thursday's series finale versus Washington.

Skenes (9-10) allowed three runs on two hits and four walks while striking out six over five innings to take the loss versus the Brewers on Wednesday.

Skenes has walked a season-high four batters in each of his last two starts. He's also allowed 13 runs over his last 14.1 innings, marking another rough patch in a season that has seen the right-hander struggle much more than his first two seasons. He threw just 53 of 93 pitches for strikes in Wednesday's outing. For the season, Skenes has a 3.96 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 162:36 K:BB through 129.2 innings. He's projected to make his next start at Miami.

Duarte earned the save in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Guardians, working around a walk in a scoreless inning.

After the Mets took the lead in the top of the 10th, Duarte was called upon to close out the game in the bottom half. After walking Chase DeLauter with one out, Duarte settled in to record the final two outs, stranding the tying and go-ahead runs on base to earn his second major-league save and his first since 2023. Duarte has been sharp out of the bullpen in his brief stint with New York, allowing just two runs on seven hits through his first 14.1 innings. He could find himself in a high-leverage role down the stretch after the Mets traded away Luke Weaver, A.J. Minter, Huascar Brazoban and Brooks Raley ahead of the trade deadline.

Mitchell went 0-for-2 with two walks, two stolen bases and one run scored in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Pirates.

Mitchell is still hitless in August, going 0-for-15 with four walks, eight strikeouts and three steals over five games this month. The outfielder is now 11-for-16 on the basepaths this season. His recent slump has him down to a .257 average and .773 OPS, and he's added eight home runs, 49 RBI, 49 runs scored, 23 doubles and three triples over 103 contests. Mitchell continues to work primarily in a strong-side platoon role, though his playing time has been steady lately since the Brewers have faced just three left-handed starters (one being an opener) since the All-Star break.

Yelich went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, one stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Pirates.

Yelich had been held hitless over his first three games in August, and this was his first multi-hit effort since July 22 versus the Mets. The 34-year-old logged his 10th steal of the season Wednesday, reaching double-digits thefts for the fifth year in a row and the 11th time in his 14-season career. Yelich has a .234 average, .694 OPS, seven home runs, 38 RBI, 46 runs scored, 18 doubles and two triples over 77 contests in 2026.
