The Red Sox traded Van Belle to the Reds on Saturday in exchange for cash.

Boston designated the 28-year-old righty for assignment Wednesday to clear room for Jorge Alcala. Van Belle will retain a 40-man roster spot upon switching organizations, though he will report to Triple-A Louisville to begin his time with the Reds. However, with a 2.47 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 51 innings in the minors this year, it may not be long before he gets his chance to debut in the big leagues.

Perkins (shin) will begin a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on Saturday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Perkins will be joined in Arizona by fellow outfielder Garrett Mitchell (oblique), and both players are expected to move their rehab assignments to Triple-A once they get enough reps in rookie ball. Perkins is slightly behind Mitchell in his recovery process, though the former is still expected to reach Nashville by the end of the month and may join Milwaukee's active roster before the All-Star break.

Manager Pat Murphy previously said the Brewers are hoping to get Mitchell playing rehab games at Triple-A Nashville by June 20, but the team will first ease him into game action by having him play in some rookie-level games. Arcia isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Arcia went 1-for-5 in Friday's 12-4 loss to extend his hitting streak to four games. After starting at shortstop Friday, Arcia will give way to Ryan Ritter on Saturday. Ritter projects to serve as the Rockies' primary option at the position while Ezequiel Tovar (oblique) is on the shelf, but Arcia could continue to see steady at-bats while also making starts at first base, third base and designated hitter.

Beck isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

After making nine consecutive starts and going 13-for-39 (.333) with four RBI and three runs scored in that span, Beck will receive a day off Saturday. Sam Hilliard will take his place in left field and bat leadoff.

DeJong (orbital) will meet with his surgeon Saturday and could be cleared to begin a rehab assignment early next week, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.

DeJong has been out since taking a Mitch Keller fastball to the face April 15. He faced live pitching Wednesday for the first time since the incident, and came away feeling ready to ramp back up. Manager Dave Martinez indicated that DeJong would be brought along slowly once he kicks off his rehab stint, but the 31-year-old infielder remains on track to rejoin the Nationals in early July.

Tong has racked up a 2.15 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 91:19 K:BB through 54.1 innings this season for Double-A Binghamton.

The 21-year-old right-hander has been all but untouchable over the last month, posting a 1.09 ERA and 14.5 K/9 over his last six starts, and a promotion to Triple-A Syracuse is likely on the horizon. Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns didn't rule out Tong making his big-league debut in 2025 either, David Adler of MLB.com reports. If a spot in the majors for a top prospect opens up later this summer, Tong would be competing with Nolan McLean for the honor, as the latter has more than held his own since getting bumped up to Triple-A in early May.

Phillips (1-0) was credited with the win Friday, striking out one in a scoreless two-thirds of an inning against the Marlins.

Starter Edward Cabrera lasted only three innings and left the mound with Miami ahead 6-2, and the official scorer gave the win to Phillips after he recorded the first two outs in the fourth. The 27-year-old has worked in a low-leverage role all season, posting a 4.59 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB through 33.1 innings over 23 appearances with zero saves or holds.
