The Mets recalled Garza from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old was demoted to Syracuse on Sunday but will quickly rejoin the Mets with Tylor Megill (elbow) landing on the injured list. Garza delivered 3.2 scoreless frames during his prior week-long stint with the big-league club.

The Reds placed Ashcraft on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right groin strain.

Ashcraft has struggled lately, permitting 10 runs over his last 11.1 relief innings. He'll be eligible for activation July 1, but it's unclear whether he'll be ready to go on that date. Luis Mey is taking Ashcraft's spot on the roster and in the bullpen.

The Mets placed Megill on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right elbow sprain.

A sprained elbow indicates Megill is dealing with damage to his UCL, but the pitcher said Tuesday that he just has inflammation and no structural damage, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. Megill will be shut down for at least 7-to-10 days before ramping back up. The Mets are due to get Frankie Montas (lat) and Sean Manaea (oblique) back soon, but they will need someone else to fill in for Megill later this week in Philadelphia.

Stott (elbow) is starting at second base and batting sixth Tuesday against the Marlins, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Stott suffered a hyperextended elbow during Monday's win against the Marlins but is back in the starting nine for Tuesday's contest. The 27-year-old has struggled at the plate so far in June, as he's batting .146 (7-for-46) with one extra-base hit in 14 games.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that Castellanos is being held out of Tuesday's lineup in Miami after making an inappropriate comment following his removal from Monday's contest, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Castellanos' benching isn't expected to extend beyond Tuesday's game. It's the first time since September 2023 that Castellanos is out of the lineup, as he had started 236 consecutive contests during the regular season. The Phillies will go with a starting outfield of Brandon Marsh, Johan Rojas and Max Kepler on Tuesday.

Walker is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the White Sox.

Walker started the first two contests upon his activation from the 10-day injured list, going 2-for-7 with a 1:1 K:BB, but he'll take a seat in Tuesday's series opener. Alec Burleson is occupying right field for the Cardinals. Walker could continue to see his reps versus righties limited as long as Ivan Herrera is primarily used at designated hitter.

Baty (groin) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The 25-year-old exited Sunday's loss to the Rays due to right groin tightness and will miss at least one start coming off Monday's team off day. According to DiComo, Baty said he's feeling better but isn't sure if he'll be available off the bench. Ronny Mauricio will start at third base Tuesday in place of Baty.

Nootbaar will start in left field and bat seventh in Tuesday's game versus the White Sox.

Each of Nootbaar's first 66 starts this season came from the leadoff spot. However, he's mired in a 1-for-32 slump with 17 strikeouts, prompting a move down to the lower third of the batting order after he was out of the lineup altogether the previous two games. Brendan Donovan is hitting leadoff for the second straight contest Tuesday.

The Cardinals activated Hence (ribs) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday and transferred him from Triple-A Memphis to Double-A Springfield.

Hence got a late start to the season due to a right rib cage strain, but he's made five rehab starts, allowing two runs with a 10:7 K:BB over 10.2 innings. The top prospect will now join the rotation at Springfield, where he held a 2.71 ERA and 109:26 K:BB over 79.2 frames in 2024.

Nardi (back) was cleared to play catch Monday, MLB.com reports.

Nardi has been slow to recover from low back inflammation, an injury that dates back to spring training and which has kept him on the shelf all season. Though the right-handed reliever won't need to be built up to pitch more than an inning or two, he's still likely weeks away from reaching a point in his throwing program where he's ready to head out on a rehab assignment. He appears to be tracking toward a return from the 60-day injured list at some point in July, though he may not be back until after the All-Star break.
