The Rockies reinstated Goodman (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list and he is batting third Tuesday against the Nationals, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Goodman ended up missing just the 10-day minimum due to the left shoulder strain he sustained in mid-August. The 26-year-old homered twice in his first game of the month but since then has struggled, going 5-for-31 (.161 average) with one homer and 10 strikeouts in his past nine contests.

The Brewers designated Ornelas for assignment Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The 26-year-old was acquired from the Athletics in mid-August but made just three appearances for the Brewers before losing his place on the 26-man and 40-man rosters. Between his time in Sacramento and Milwaukee this year, Ornelas has gone 4-for-21 with 11 strikeouts in nine MLB contests.

Crooks is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's tilt versus the Orioles.

Crooks started at catcher each of the last three times the opposition had a righty on the bump, but he will take a seat Tuesday as the Orioles hand the ball to Chris Bassitt. Ivan Herrera will do the catching for the Cardinals.

Jordan is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.

Jordan had made 10 consecutive starts, but he will exit the lineup for Tuesday's series opener. Ramon Urias will cover third base and will bat seventh for the Cardinals.

The Brewers reinstated Frelick (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, though he's not in the lineup against the Mets, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The outfielder has been on the shelf since just after the All-Star break due to a shoulder strain, and he's now back on the active roster after posting a .951 OPS with four doubles and two homers during a 10-game rehab assignment. Frelick's .631 OPS through 90 games this season would be a career worst, so he may need to improve his offensive production to fend off Luis Lara for playing time.

The Cardinals recalled Gorman from Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday.

He'll fill the roster spot vacated by the injured Masyn Winn (thumb). Gorman has slashed .182/.328/.430 with 13 home runs in 46 games since being demoted to Memphis, with seven of those long balls coming in August. He could see some action at third base for the Cardinals but is not guaranteed regular playing time.

The Cardinals placed Winn on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to Aug. 22, due to a left thumb fracture.

It was reported earlier Tuesday that Winn would be placed on the injured list, but the full extent of the injury wasn't previously disclosed. Despite the diagnosis, the Cardinals don't expect the 24-year-old shortstop to miss an extended period of time, per Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat. Nolan Gorman was called up to fill the open roster spot for St. Louis.

Chaparro is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Rockies.

Chaparro has now been out of the lineup for two straight games and three of the past four tilts. CJ Abrams is getting another day at designated hitter for the Nationals.

Stowers is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox

Stowers went 1-for-4 with a walk, a double and two strikeouts Monday in his first game back from a hamstring injury, and it appears the Marlins are easing him back into action with a day off Tuesday. Leo Jimenez is filling in at first base and batting sixth versus Boston lefty Payton Tolle.

Ruiz is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Rockies.

Ruiz will get a break after starting at catcher each of the past two days. Harry Ford will be behind the plate and will bat seventh for the Nationals on Tuesday.
