Stowers is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox

Stowers went 1-for-4 with a walk, a double and two strikeouts Monday in his first game back from a hamstring injury, and it appears the Marlins are easing him back into action with a day off Tuesday. Leo Jimenez is filling in at first base and batting sixth versus Boston lefty Payton Tolle.

Ruiz is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Rockies.

Ruiz will get a break after starting at catcher each of the past two days. Harry Ford will be behind the plate and will bat seventh for the Nationals on Tuesday.

Alvarez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers.

It's the second straight game out of the lineup for Alvarez, who has split his time between catcher (10 starts) and designated hitter (five starts) this month. Luis Torrens will be behind the plate, and Eric Wagaman will slot in at DH for the Mets on Tuesday.

The Reds sent Ashcraft (elbow) to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.

Ashcraft is finally ready to test things out in games after being sidelined since late May with a sprained UCL in his right elbow. Given the length of his layoff, the reliever will likely need a handful of rehab outings before being reinstated.

Hernandez is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Atlanta.

Hernandez is in the midst of an 18-game homerless stretch and is slashing .172/.200/.241 over that span. Alex Call will get the start in left field for the Dodgers while Hernandez regroups.

The Marlins recalled Fulton from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

In six appearances out of the Marlins' bullpen this season, Fulton has permitted seven runs with a 12:10 K:BB over 14 frames. The big left-hander will provide Miami's relief corps with some length.

The Marlins placed Fairbanks on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right medial nerve irritation.

Fairbanks had to be removed from Monday's appearance versus the Red Sox after just one batter due to the issue. He is scheduled to see a specialist Tuesday, per Christina De Nicola of MLB.com, and more could be known regarding a timeline for the reliever following that visit. While Fairbanks is sidelined, any of Michael Petersen, Calvin Faucher and Josh Ekness could see closing opportunities.

The Nationals designated Williams for assignment Tuesday.

The roster move frees up a spot for waiver claim Matt Waldron. Williams has pitched well this season in long relief after returning from internal brace surgery, collecting a 2.65 ERA and 22:6 K:BB over 17 innings. The 34-year-old's $7 million salary will likely prevent him from being claimed off waivers, but he should receive some interest on the open market from a team in need of innings.

The Dodgers activated Glasnow (back) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Out since early May due to lower-back spasms, Glasnow will make his long-awaited return to the Dodgers' rotation with a start Tuesday in Atlanta. The right-hander yielded looked sharp in four rehab starts, allowing two runs with a 20:4 K:BB over 13.2 innings. Glasnow went 5.1 frames and threw 77 pitches in his final rehab outing, so he could be somewhat limited from a pitch count perspective Tuesday.

Gordon is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Nationals in Washington, D.C.

After the Rockies released Michael Lorenzen last week, Gordon was moved out of the bullpen to fill the opening in the rotation. While making his sixth start of the season Friday against the Guardians at Coors Field, Gordon was handed a loss after giving up five runs on nine hits and two walks across 5.1 innings. Though Gordon owns a 2.97 ERA and 1.29 WHIP over 33.1 innings away from Colorado this season, he won't make for a recommended streaming option outside of NL-only or deeper mixed leagues.
