Marchan went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and three RBI in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Nationals.

Marchan drove in all of the Phillies' runs, delivering a two-run double in the second inning before working a bases-loaded walk in the third. It marked a rare bright spot in what's been a tough season for the backup catcher, who's slashing .183/.280/.256 with one homer, nine RBI and six runs scored across 94 plate appearances.

Irvin (8-9) took the loss against the Phillies on Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts over 2.1 innings.

Irvin struggled with his command, landing just 39 of 69 pitches for strikes and generating six whiffs while failing to escape the third inning in his shortest outing of the year. The rough night continued a miserable August for the 28-year-old, who's gone 0-4 with a 9.55 ERA over five starts. He now sports a 5.40 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 99:52 K:BB across 148.1 innings and will look to rebound in a home matchup with Tampa Bay next weekend.

Suarez (10-6) earned the win against the Nationals on Sunday, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out 11 over seven scoreless innings.

Sanchez was masterful, firing 63 of 90 pitches for strikes with 16 whiffs while racking up double-digit strikeouts for the second straight start. Despite a 4.45 ERA over five August outings, he's logged three quality starts with an impressive 32:2 K:BB in that span. On the year, the 29-year-old owns a 3.07 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 122:29 K:BB across 126 innings and lines up for a home matchup with Atlanta next weekend.

Kerkering earned the save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Nationals, allowing one run on one hit and no walks with one strikeout in the ninth inning.

With Jhoan Duran unavailable after pitching on back-to-back days, Kerkering was called on in the ninth and closed the door despite surrendering a solo homer. The 24-year-old now owns a 2.92 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 51:21 K:BB to go along with 19 holds and four saves across 49.1 innings this season.

Freeman went 2-for-4 with two home runs, a walk and three total RBI in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Padres.

Freeman hit a game-tying solo shot in the sixth inning and added a two-run blast to pad the Dodgers' lead in the seventh. He's gone deep four times over his last eight games and now has 18 homers on the year. Freeman has added an impressive .302/.375/.501 slash line, 75 RBI, 66 runs scored, 32 doubles and four stolen bases over 118 contests as he continues to be one of the Dodgers' most consistent hitters.

Yamamoto (11-8) allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings to earn the win over the Padres on Sunday.

Yamamoto gave up a two-run home run to Elias Diaz in the third inning, but that was the extent of the damage. This was Yamamoto's second straight quality start following a six-run disaster versus the Angels on Aug. 11, though he has allowed one homer in three straight starts. The 27-year-old is still having a strong season with a 2.90 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 157:48 K:BB through 139.2 innings through 25 starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Diamondbacks.

Diaz went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 8-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Diaz put the Padres ahead 2-1 in the third inning with his homer, but that was the extent of their scoring. He's seen limited playing time in August, as Freddy Fermin has taken over as San Diego's top catcher. Diaz has gone 3-for-19 (.158) over seven games this month, so he's not doing much to make a stronger case for playing time. Overall, the 34-year-old backstop has a .198/.269/.308 slash line with six homers, 24 RBI, 29 runs scored and seven doubles across 253 plate appearances this season.

Taillon was removed from his start in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Angels in the fifth inning due to left groin tightness, Patrick Mooney of The Athletic reports.

Taillon ended up picking up his second straight win to improve his record to 9-6, and he tossed five innings of one-run ball while striking out three batters and allowing three hits and no walks. After the game, Taillon referred to the injury as a "small cramp" in his left groin, per Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com, and manager Craig Counsell added that the right-hander's removal from the game was precautionary. Taillon can be considered day-to-day for the time being, but assuming he's able to make it through his between-starts bullpen session without issue, he'll likely return to the hill Saturday in Colorado.

Pivetta allowed two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out seven over six innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Sunday.

Pivetta allowed multiple runs for just the third time in his last 11 starts, earning his ninth quality start in that span. He also gave up a home run for the fourth time in five starts, though the long ball has not been a significant issue for him this year. Pivetta is now at a 2.82 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 161:41 K:BB through 153.1 innings over 26 starts. His next start is projected to be on the road versus the Twins.

Sears is slated to start Monday's game against the Mariners in Seattle, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The Padres will award Sears a second turn through the rotation after he delivered a quality start upon being called up from Triple-A El Paso last Wednesday, when he picked up a win while limiting the Giants to one run over six innings. The southpaw may not be in line for any additional starts beyond Monday regardless of how he performs against the Mariners, as Michael King (knee) could be ready to return from the 15-day injured list to replace him in the rotation by the end of the week.
