Cavanaugh is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

With southpaw Nick Lodolo toeing the rubber for the Reds, Cavanaugh will head to the bench along with fellow left-handed batters Nate Furman, Jung Hoo Lee (elbow) and Drew Gilbert. Andrew Knizner will get the nod at catcher in place of Cavanaugh, who started behind the dish for the first two contests of the series and went 4-for-7 with a walk and two RBI.

Furman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Campusano has been in a mini 1-for-17 slump at the plate lately and has seen his playing time slip. It will be Freddy Fermin doing the catching and batting ninth for the Padres on Wednesday, marking the fourth time across the last six games that he's started over Campusano.

After covering third base while going 0-for-7 with two strikeouts in the first two contests of the series, Whitcomb will shift over to the keystone Wednesday while the left-handed-hitting Nate Furman heads to the bench with southpaw Nick Lodolo on the bump for the Reds.

Stephenson is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in San Francisco.

Stephenson will rest during Wednesday's matinee after starting each of the previous four contests. Jose Trevino will start behind the plate and bat eighth as the Reds look to avoid a sweep.

Rodriguez will start in right field and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Reds manager Terry Francona is shaking things up a bit as he aims to jumpstart a struggling offense. Rodriguez earned the bump up in the lineup after going 5-for-13 with one home run and one double over his last four contests. It's the first time in his young big-league career that Rodriguez has batted higher than sixth. Usual leadoff man Elly De La Cruz is batting second for the Reds.

Roupp has had his next scheduled start pushed back a day to Thursday versus the Diamondbacks, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Roupp had been slated to start Wednesday's series finale against the Reds, but the Giants have elected to move Logan Webb up a day to take the ball on normal rest. The 27-year-old Roupp has struggled lately, posting a 6.20 ERA and 17:19 K:BB over 24.2 innings covering his last five starts.

The Giants have decided to flip-flop Webb and Landen Roupp, who will now take the ball Thursday versus the Diamondbacks. Webb will be starting on regular rest after throwing 70 pitches over 2.2 ineffective innings his last time out against the Red Sox.

After a three-week hiatus following a setback with his right forearm, Pivetta resumed his minor-league rehab assignment and made a second start with Lake Elsinore. Though his command was lacking while he allowed three extra-base hits -- including two home runs -- on the night, Pivetta was at least able to pound the strike zone (35 strikes on 47 pitches). Pivetta will need at least one more rehab start to continue building up his pitch count before the Padres consider bringing him back from the 60-day injured list and inserting him into the rotation. The veteran righty has been on the shelf since April 14.
