  • Andrew Abbott SP | CIN

Reds' Andrew Abbott: Rolls through Cardinals

Abbott (7-1) yielded a run on three hits over seven innings Sunday, striking out three and earning a win over St. Louis.

Abbott coughed up a run in the second inning before retiring the final 18 batters he faced in a dominant performance. He's given up one or zero earned runs in 12 of his 14 starts this season, but he was tagged with a combined nine runs in the other two. With Sunday's 100-pitch performance, he dropped his season ERA to 1.79 with a 72:20 K:BB across 75.1 frames. Abbott is 5-1 with a 1.59 ERA over his last seven outings. He's in line for a home matchup against San Diego next weekend.

  • Cole Paplham RP | SD

Padres' Cole Paplham: Activated, sent to High-A

Paplham (face) was assigned to High-A Fort Wayne on Thursday after being reinstated from Double-A San Antonio's 7-day injured list.

After suffering multiple facial fractures when he was struck by a comebacker in a Cactus League game back in late February, Paplham opened the season on San Antonio's IL. He was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on May 20, and after giving up one earned run in 4.2 innings over four appearances, he was moved to Fort Wayne on June 3. Since reporting to the Midwest League, Paplham has made four more appearances and has struck out six while allowing two earned runs on four hits and one walk in six innings. Though he'll stick around with Fort Wayne for the time being, Paplham could be advanced to San Antonio once the Double-A club has an opening in its bullpen.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Smacks 12th homer

Hoskins went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and two total RBI in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Twins.

Hoskins led off the second inning with a homer off David Festa, his 12th of the year, tying the game 2-2. The 32-year-old Hoskins has at least one hit in his last four games, going 5-for-15 with two homers and four extra-base hits in that span. Overall, he's slashing .248/.340/.439 with 40 RBI, 28 runs scored and a pair of steals across 288 plate appearances this season.

  • Pirates' Braxton Ashcraft: Set for first career start Monday

Achcraft will start Monday's series opener against the Brewers in Milwaukee, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

After making his first seven appearances out of the Pittsburgh bullpen following his May 26 call-up from Triple-A Indianapolis, Ashcraft will make his first career major-league start against a red-hot Brewers lineup that has averaged 10.8 runs per contest during its active four-game winning streak. The right-hander has fared well thus far while working in relief, producing a 1.54 ERA and 1.29 WHIP with 10 strikeouts over 11.2 innings. He's maxed out at 40 pitches in those relief outings, but the Pirates could be comfortable with him covering somewhere around 60-to-80 pitches Monday after he had previously built up to six innings during his time in the minors. Even so, the fact that Ashcraft likely won't handle a traditional starter's workload in addition to the tough matchup limits his appeal as a streaming option.

  • Mickey Moniak LF | COL

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Hammers three-run shot

Moniak went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Sunday's win over Arizona.

Moniak's three-run blast in the fifth inning proved to be the game-deciding swing. It was his 11th long ball of the year and sixth in his last 11 appearances. He's approaching his career high of 14 home runs, which he reached in each of the previous two seasons while with the Angels. Moniak is slashing .245/.295/.500 with 22 extra-base hits and 27 RBI through 207 plate appearances.

  • Trevor Megill RP | MIL

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Locks down four-out save

Megill earned the save in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Twins, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out two over 1.1 innings.

The Brewers turned to Megill in the eighth inning after Jared Koenig allowed a pair of two-out singles following a Ty France homer that cut Milwaukee's lead to 9-8. Megill struck out Jonah Bride before working around a Harrison Bader one-out double in the ninth inning to pick up his 17th save this year. Megill's converted his last five save chances, allowing one run while striking out 10 in that span (5.1 innings). His ERA sits at 2.70 on the year with a 1.31 WHIP and 32:14 K:BB across 26.2 innings.

  • Seth Halvorsen RP | COL

Rockies' Seth Halvorsen: Secures sixth save

Halvorsen allowed a hit in a scoreless inning and earned a save over Arizona on Sunday. He struck out one batter.

Halvorsen worked around a two-out double by Randal Grichuk to close out the 4-2 victory Sunday. It was Halvorsen's first appearance since blowing a save chance against the Nationals on Thursday. He's now converted six of his nine save opportunities while producing a 4.31 ERA and a 29:14 K:BB through 31.1 innings.

  • Heliot Ramos LF | SF

Giants' Heliot Ramos: Collects four RBI in victory

Ramos went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI in Sunday's 9-5 win against Boston.

The San Francisco outfielder posted his second four-RBI performance this season, as he laced his 14th double. Ramos secured his first two RBI on a single in the third inning before driving home a pair on a two-bagger in the seventh. The 25-year-old appears bound for his second straight All-Star appearance thanks to a .285/.361/.474 slash line with 13 homers, 48 runs scored and 43 RBI across 322 plate appearances and 76 games.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Picks up second straight win

Senzatela (3-10) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk over 5.1 innings Sunday, striking out five and earning a win over Arizona.

Senzatela gave up a run in the second and fourth innings, but Colorado's four-run fifth frame gave him his second straight victory. It was the first time he earned wins in consecutive outings since 2021. Despite the recent wins, Senzatela has not completed six innings in a start since May 20 and has registered a 6.75 ERA in six appearances since then. He owns a 6.48 ERA with a 40:28 K:BB through 76.1 frames this season. Senzatela is projected to take the mound in Milwaukee next weekend.

  • Quinn Priester SP | MIL

Brewers' Quinn Priester: Early exit vs. Twins

Priester did not factor into the decision Sunday against Minnesota, allowing three runs on nine hits over 3.1 innings. He struck out four.

It was a tough outing for Priester, who gave up a season-high nine hits, including a pair of solo home runs, after allowing just one long ball in his previous 29 innings. Priester had won four straight outings prior to Sunday, posting a 1.96 ERA in that span (23 innings). Overall, the 24-year-old right-hander sports a 3.68 ERA with a 1.31 WHIP and 50:26 K:BB through 71 innings this season. Priester will look to get back on track in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week against the Rockies.
