Abrams is starting at second base and batting leadoff Sunday against the Marlins, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

Manager Blake Butera announced a couple weeks ago that Abrams would shift from shortstop to second base, but the 25-year-old suffered an ankle sprain shortly thereafter which has mostly limited him to serving as the designated hitter. He's struggled at the plate since missing four games due to the ankle issue, going 2-for-24 with three walks, a double, two steals and nine strikeouts in six contests. Abrams is now shifting to his new position, with this being his first appearance at second base since 2022 as a member of the Padres.

Muncy is out of the lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Tigers.

With southpaw Framber Valdez toeing the slab for Detroit, the left-handed hitter will sit out Sunday's series finale. The Dodgers will send Miguel Rojas to man the hot corner in Muncy's place and bat sixth.

Tovar is absent from the lineup for Sunday's matchup against Atlanta.

Tovar is a combined 1-for-6 with two strikeouts through the first two games of the series against Atlanta. Colorado will give the 24-year-old a breather while Ryan Ritter handles shortstop and hits ninth Sunday.

House is out of the lineup for Sunday's affair with the Marlins.

Despite recording six RBI over his last three games, House will not start Sunday's matchup with Miami. Jorbit Vivas will man the hot corner and bat sixth for Washington.

Mack is absent from Sunday's lineup against the Nationals.

Mack has struggled at the plate in his last 15 games, slashing just .200/.265/.289 over 49 plate appearances. The 23-year-old will get a breather for the third game of a four-game set against Washington, with Brian Navarreto handling catching duties and batting ninth for Miami.

Stowers is out of the lineup for Miami's matchup with Washington on Sunday.

Despite recording at least one base hit in four of his five games since returning from the IL, Stowers will sit out Sunday's game. Leo Jimenez will man first base and bat seventh for the Marlins.

Adams is slated to start for the Rockies in Sunday's game in Atlanta.

Adams will receive a second turn through the Colorado rotation after working four innings in a no-decision during his MLB debut Tuesday. Though he's a placeholder in the rotation for the injured Kyle Freeland (neck), Adams could make additional starts over the balance of the season if he acquits himself well.

Taylor went 4-for-5 with a double and three runs scored in Saturday's 17-5 win over the Reds.

Taylor had four of Chicago's 19 hits in a very comfortable victory. The veteran has provided valuable outfield depth since coming over from the Mets at the trade deadline, and he's slashing .389/.452/.472 across 16 games on the North Side. Taylor is known largely for his strong defense, but he's managed to make his mark with his bat as well.

May (shoulder) is listed as the Brewers' probable starter for Sunday's game against the Rangers at American Family Field.

May will be returning to the hill after he threw just one pitch in his start Wednesday before being drilled in the upper back by a 106-mph comebacker. The right-hander escaped with nothing more than a contusion and was able to play catch Thursday. He'll be making his fifth start with the Brewers on Sunday, going 1-1 with a 5.87 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over 15.1 innings in his first four outings since being acquired from the Cardinals at the trade deadline.

Lowe went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two runs scored Saturday against the Cardinals.

Lowe kicked off the scoring in Saturday's win by going yard in the first inning, his 28th homer of the season. While he's had a fairly strong campaign overall, Lowe has hit only .215 while striking out at a 41.3 percent clip across 25 games in August. Nevertheless, he needs only three RBI to top last year's 83, his highest total since 2021.
