  • Dodgers' Eliezer Alfonzo: Officially called up Saturday

The Dodgers selected Alfonzo's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday. Alfonzo has thrived with OKC this season, slashing .313/.392/.422 with one home run, 16 RBI and a 22:17 BB:K over 49 games. He's thus getting his first look in the majors, and he's expected to serve as the backup behind the plate to Dalton Rushing while Will Smith (neck) remains on the IL. Chuckie Robinson, who had been working as the backup catcher, was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Dodgers' Eliezer Alfonzo: Slated for major-league promotion

The Dodgers are expected to promote Alfonzo from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. The move has not been officially made, but the expectation is that Alfonzo will take Chuckie Robinson's spot on the Dodgers' 26 man roster prior to Saturday's game against the Padres, with the former serving as the team's backup catcher behind Dalton Rushing. Alfonzo has played well in Triple-A this season, slashing .313/.392/.422 with one home run and 16 RBI over 190 plate appearances. His first appearance for the Dodgers will officially mark his major-league debut.

  • Dodgers' Eliezer Alfonzo: Signs on with LA

Alfonzo agreed to a minor-league contract with the Dodgers on Monday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. Alfonzo spent the majority of his 2025 campaign in the Tigers' organization, appearing in 57 games for Double-A Erie and eight for Triple-A Toledo. He slashed .247/.297/.322 with one home run, 34 RBI and 24 runs scored in 65 appearances across the two levels.

  • Tigers' Eliezer Alfonzo: Sent to minor-league camp

Alfonzo was reassigned to minor-league camp Wednesday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. Alfonzo went 3-for-8 with a double and two RBI in Grapefruit League play. The 25-year-old spent the entire 2024 season with Double-A Erie and could be headed there again this year, unless he gets the call up to Triple-A. Alfonzo is likely nothing more than organizational depth for the Tigers at the moment.
