  • Ryne Stanek RP | STL

Mets' Ryne Stanek: Secures third save Tuesday

Stanek picked up the save in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Angels, allowing two hits and no walks in a scoreless ninth inning. He struck out one.

Closer Edwin Diaz worked each of the past two days for the Mets, which opened the door for Stanek to handle Tuesday's save opportunity and register his third save of the year. As long as Diaz stays healthy, Stanek is unlikely to see very much ninth-inning work out of New York's bullpen. On the season, Stanek owns a troublesome 4.15 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 38:18 K:BB across 34.2 innings.

  • Seiya Suzuki RF | CHC

Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Reaches twice, steals base in win

Suzuki went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Royals. He also stole a base.

Suzuki has been a slugger all season, but he displayed some uncommon wheels in Tuesday's win. The outfielder is now up to three stolen stolen bases in five attempts. Suzuki swiped 16 bases last year, but fantasy managers are likely OK swapping speed for power. The 30-year-old is tied for sixth in the majors with 26 home runs and is fourth in MLB with 81 RBI.

  • Matt Shaw RF | CHC

Cubs' Matt Shaw: Stays hot Tuesday

Shaw went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Royals. He also stole a base.

Shaw has now collected hits in five straight games coming out of the All-Star break, and three of those have been multi-hit efforts. The rookie has been up and down this season, though he's managed to string together a few hot streaks here and there. Shaw has also been solid on the bases with 13 steals in 15 attempts. The young infielder may be susceptible to slumps at the plate, but his talent is evident.

  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Tallies two hits, stolen base

Swanson went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Royals. He also stole a base.

Chicago ran wild with seven stolen bases in the shutout win, and Swanson chipped in with his eighth of the season in 11 attempts. The shortstop swiped 19 bases last year, and he's been in double digits four times in his MLB career. Swanson also has 16 home runs this season, giving him well-rounded fantasy value from a premium position.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Runs wild in win

Hoerner went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Royals. He also stole two bases.

Hoerner was once again an effective leadoff hitter against a lefty, and he also continued to be aggressive on the bases. The infielder has three steals in his last three games and 19 for the season in 22 attempts. Hoerner seems to be thriving atop Chicago's lineup when given the opportunity, and his speed remains his greatest fantasy asset.

  • Davis Daniel RP | CIN

Braves' Davis Daniel: Roughed up by Giants on Tuesday

Daniel (0-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Giants, allowing five runs on seven hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out three.

The Giants hit Daniel hard in the second inning, plating four runs and getting six batters to reach base during the frame. The 28-year-old right-hander was still able to eat five innings for Atlanta's injury-plagued rotation, and he at least appears to be stretched out for a traditional starter's workload after throwing 92 pitches in third outing of the season Tuesday. Daniels owns a dicey 5.40 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 9:7 K:BB through his first 10 frames, and his next turn tentatively lines up for next week in Kansas City against the Royals.

  • Landen Roupp SP | SF

Giants' Landen Roupp: Blanks Atlanta over five innings

Roupp (7-6) earned the win Tuesday against Atlanta, allowing four hits and one walk in five shutout innings. He struck out six.

Roupp delivered his third scoreless start in his last six games, and he hasn't conceded more than two runs in any outing during that stretch. While the right-hander had a poor 5.10 ERA following his April 30 start in San Diego, he's produced a much-improved 2.27 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 60:28 K:BB over his last 14 appearances (71.1 innings). Roupp will look to keep the good times rolling in a soft spot at home versus the last-place Pirates his next time out.

  • Frankie Montas RP | NYM

Mets' Frankie Montas: Fans season-high six in third win

Montas (3-1) earned the win Tuesday against the Angels, allowing two runs on eight hits and two walks in 5.2 innings. He struck out six.

Montas set a season high in both strikeouts and hits allowed during the outing. Four of those eight knocks traveled for extra bases, and the 32-year-old right-hander has been unable to complete six innings in any of his first five starts this year. Montas hasn't established himself as a reliable fantasy option quite yet, posting a 4.62 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 23:6 K:BB over 25.1 frames, and he'll remain difficult to trust in next week's scheduled matchup in San Diego against the Padres.

  • Alexis Diaz RP | TEX

Dodgers' Alexis Diaz: Back in Los Angeles

The Dodgers recalled Diaz from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

With Tanner Scott set to miss at least the next 15 days with elbow inflammation, Diaz will come up from the minors to claim the open bullpen spot. The 28-year-old has surrendered eight earned runs in just six MLB innings this season, so he'll likely be reserved for low-leverage situations with the Dodgers despite his previous experience as a closer in Cincinnati.

  • Tanner Scott RP | LAD

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Officially placed on IL

The Dodgers placed Scott on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with left elbow inflammation.

The fact that the team is labeling Scott's injury as "inflammation" suggests the southpaw didn't suffer any structural damage during his outing Monday, but it will still cause him to remain out until at least early August. Alexis Diaz will come up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill the open spot in Los Angeles' bullpen, and closing duties will likely be handed to Kirby Yates or Alex Vesia going forward.
