Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Starting rehab assignment
Bohm (ribs) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Bohm was placed on the 10-day injured list July 19 due to a left rib fracture but has made enough progress in his recovery to test himself in a game setting. He'll likely need at least a few games in the minors to regain his timing at the plate, but he could be ready to rejoin the Philadelphia lineup by next weekend. While Bohm has been on the shelf, Otto Kemp and Edmundo Sosa have been sharing time at third base.

Angel Chivilli RP | NYY
Rockies' Angel Chivilli: Placed on restricted list
The Rockies placed Chivilli on the restricted list Friday.
The team hasn't provided any details as to why Chivilli was moved to the restricted list, but some clarity may come in the near future. The 23-year-old currently carries a 7.29 ERA and 1.76 WHIP through 42 innings in the majors this year and isn't likely to receive many high-leverage opportunities once he's activated.

Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL
Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Done for 2025
The Rockies transferred Estrada (hamstring) to the 60-day injured list Friday.
Estrada strained his right hamstring during Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays. He was placed on the 10-day injured list one day later, and his move to the 60-day IL means Estrada will not play for the rest of the season. He will end the year with a .253/.285/.370 slash line with one steal, nine doubles, three home runs and 21 RBI across 165 plate appearances. Adael Amador and Aaron Schunk figure to see more starts at the keystone with Estrada sidelined.

Orlando Arcia 2B | MIN
Rockies' Orlando Arcia: Placed on injured list
The Rockies placed Arcia on the 10-day injured list Friday with right elbow inflammation.
Arcia hasn't played since leaving Tuesday's game early with an elbow injury, and he'll officially miss at least another week now that he's on the IL. Kyle Karros and Aaron Schunk were both called up from Triple-A Albuquerque to replenish the Rockies' infield depth, though it's unclear which player will receive the lion's share of the playing time at third base.

Kyle Karros 3B | COL
Rockies' Kyle Karros: Selected from ABQ
The Rockies selected Karros' contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.
One of the top prospects in Colorado's farm system, Karros has slashed .306/.368/.500 with two homers, four RBI and nine runs scored through 68 plate appearances since being promoted to Triple-A in mid-July. The 23-year-old infielder will now join the major-league roster alongside Aaron Schunk to help make up for the loss of Orlando Arcia (elbow), and Karros will get the nod to make his MLB debut Friday while starting at third base.

Aaron Schunk 3B | ATL
Rockies' Aaron Schunk: Back with big club
The Rockies selected Schunk's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.
Schunk opted to stay in the Rockies organization after being DFA'd in late May, and the move seems to have paid off as he'll return to the majors while Orlando Arcia (elbow) goes on the 10-day injured list. Schunk has hit the ball well in Triple-A since the beginning of June, slashing .397/.417/.654 with two steals, five doubles, three triples, three home runs and 18 RBI in 84 plate appearances.

Matt Shaw RF | CHC
Cubs' Matt Shaw: Sitting out Friday
Shaw is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Cardinals.
Shaw was swinging a hot bat for a stretch in late July, but he's gone just 3-for-15 to begin August, bringing his season average down to .222 across 287 plate appearances. The 23-year-old will sit for the second time in five games as Willi Castro takes over at third base and bats seventh against right-hander Michael McGreevy.

Jameson Taillon SP | CHC
Cubs' Jameson Taillon: Set for rehab start
Taillon (calf) will make his scheduled rehab start with Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
The right-hander was pummeled for seven earned runs across three innings in his last rehab start, but he will stay on schedule nonetheless. Depending on how he fares Friday, Taillon could jump back into the Cubs' rotation next week as the team kicks off a stretch of 14 games in 13 days.

Jameson Taillon SP | CHC
Cubs' Jameson Taillon: Scratched from rehab start
Taillon (calf) will not make his scheduled rehab start for Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
It's uncertain whether this is due to a setback, but that seems likely given the timing of the scratch. With recent trade acquisition Mike Soroka (shoulder) landing on the injured list, the Cubs could be forced to turn to Brad Keller, Ben Brown and/or Jordan Wicks for starts in the coming weeks.

Chris Sale SP | ATL
Braves' Chris Sale: Making rehab start Tuesday
Sale (ribs) will make his first rehab start with Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Last year's NL Cy Young winner threw 30 pitches in a simulated game Thursday and is now ready to embark on a minor-league rehab assignment, which may consist of only two starts. Sale struggled out of the gate this season but was finding his form before he injured himself on an ill-fated dive attempt, posting a 0.86 ERA and 0.89 WHIP in six starts leading up to his placement on the IL in mid-June.
