Joey Wiemer RF | WAS
Marlins' Joey Wiemer: Called up, starting Sunday
The Marlins recalled Wiemer from Triple-A Jacksonville, and he'll start in left field and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
Miami brought Wiemer aboard as a replacement for Kyle Stowers (oblique), who was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. With Stowers expected to miss several weeks while recovering from a Grade 1 strain, the team seems likely to lean on a committee to replace him. The right-handed-hitting Wiemer will crack the lineup Sunday against southpaw Garrett Crochet, but he could find playing time more difficult to come by against right-handed pitching. A skilled defender, Wiemer is capable of playing all three outfield spots, but he's struggled to a .203/.315/.357 slash line across 82 games with two Triple-A clubs this season.

Rhett Lowder SP | CIN
Reds' Rhett Lowder: Gets clearance for mound work
Lowder (forearm/oblique) has been cleared to begin throwing from a mound after an MRI on his oblique came back negative, MLB.com reports.
Lowder is scheduled to throw in the bullpen Sunday. The right-hander first experienced a forearm injury in spring training, then developed an oblique strain while rehabbing in May. The Reds expects him to have a normal offseason, but it's unclear how missing an entire season of development may impact his ability to compete for a spot in the Reds' rotation next spring.

Kyle Stowers LF | MIA
Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Heads to IL
The Marlins placed Stowers on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a left oblique strain.
Per Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com, Marlins manager Clayton McCullough noted that Stowers is likely to miss "several weeks" due to a Grade 1 strain, which resulted in the All-Star outfielder being scratched Saturday. Joey Wiemer was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville to add outfield depth, but Dane Myers and Derek Hill may be likelier candidates to see increased opportunities while Stowers is on the shelf.

Riley Adams C | WAS
Nationals' Riley Adams: Resting for series finale
Adams is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Adams will get a breather after he started three straight games while going 3-for-10 with a double, two walks, a stolen base and a run scored. He'll give way to Drew Millas behind the dish.

Blake Perkins CF | MIL
Brewers' Blake Perkins: Back from bereavement list
The Brewers reinstated Perkins (personal) from the bereavement list Sunday.
The 28-year-old was away from the team for the past few days to tend to a personal matter, but he's back for the series finale in Cincinnati. Perkins will bat sixth and start in center field Sunday, and he should operate as the primary option at the position with Jackson Chourio (hamstring) likely out for a couple more weeks.

Robert Hassell CF | WAS
Nationals' Robert Hassell: Gaining foothold in lineup
Hassell will start in center field and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Hassell has now started four of the Nationals' last six games, with one of his absences during that stretch coming against a left-handed pitcher. With an .885 OPS since being called up from Triple-A Rochester on Aug. 1, Hassell has earned a regular spot in the rotation as Washington finds playing time for five young outfielders -- Hassell, James Wood, Dylan Crews, Daylen Lile and Jacob Young -- between the three defensive assignments and DH.

Daniel Robert P | PHI
Phillies' Daniel Robert: Returns from IL
The Phillies reinstated Robert (finger) from the 15-day injured list Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The 30-year-old right-hander had posted a 5.79 ERA and 1.82 WHIP in 12 innings out of the bullpen this season before being placed on the IL on Aug. 1 due to a blister on his right middle finger. He's healthy now but will remain with Lehigh Valley, where he had been on a rehab assignment.

Edmundo Sosa 2B | PHI
Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Filling utility role with Bohm back
Sosa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
Sosa had started in seven of the Phillies' last eight games, but his playing time will tail off after Philadelphia activated Alec Bohm (rib) from the injured list Sunday and reinstalled him as its everyday third baseman. Expect most of Sosa's playing time to come against left-handed pitching, though he'll be on the bench Sunday against Washington southpaw Mitchell Parker.

Max Kepler RF | PHI
Phillies' Max Kepler: Getting afternoon off
Kepler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
Kepler will head to the bench for the second time in the series while the Nationals send another lefty to the hill in Mitchell Parker. Weston Wilson will spell Kepler in left field and bat seventh.
