Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Will be held out again Monday
The Cardinals intend to hold Donovan (toe) out of the lineup for a fourth straight contest Monday in Miami, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Donovan has been dealing with a nagging toe injury, which the team believes has contributed to foot and groin issues. Manager Oliver Marmol said Sunday that Donovan isn't expected to require a stint on the 10-day injured list, and the second baseman could be back in action as soon as Tuesday.

Carmen Mlodzinski SP | PIT
Pirates' Carmen Mlodzinski: Strong start against Cubs
Mlodzinski allowed one run (none earned) on one hit while striking out three across four innings Sunday against the Cubs. He did not factor into the decision.
Mlodzinski has served in a multi-inning relief role for most of the summer after beginning the year in the rotation. He was tabbed to start a bullpen game Sunday and pitched well in the role, generating 14 called and swinging strikes on 44 pitches while also getting six groundball outs. The Pirates' rotation is in flux after Andrew Heaney was shifted to the bullpen, but Mlodzinski is in the mix to stick in the rotation for the final six weeks of the regular season.

Warming Bernabel 3B | WAS
Rockies' Warming Bernabel: Strong weekend series
Bernabel went 2-for-4 with two runs scored Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
After a scorching start to his big-league career, Bernabel had slowed down considerably through mid-August. However, he enjoyed a strong series against the Diamondbacks at Coors Field, going 4-for-11 with a home run and four runs scored across four games. Though there will be some inconsistency, Bernabel has remained a near-everyday player and has hit primarily fifth in the lineup of late.

Tyler Stephenson C | CIN
Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Battling sore thumb
Stephenson is dealing with a sore left thumb and is available to catch in an emergency, MLB.com reports.

Gabriel Moreno C | ARI
Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Catches seven innings on rehab
Moreno (finger) caught seven innings for Triple-A Reno on Saturday, going 1-for-3 with a walk, a double and two runs scored.
Moreno followed up Saturday's effort by serving as the DH on Sunday and playing all nine innings. He's alternated catching and DH over four games on his rehab assignment, during which he's 4-for-12 with three walks and three doubles. The Diamondbacks likely want to see him catch a full nine-inning game before activating him, although given his nearly two months of recovery, the club may want Moreno to get more plate appearances regardless if he catches nine innings. Either way, he's on the verge of returning to the majors.

The homer was the 27th of the season for Carroll, who has gone deep six times over his last 15 games.
