Padres' Griffin Canning: Could make 2026 debut Sunday
Canning (Achilles) could be activated from the 15-day injured list and debut for the Padres on Sunday against the White Sox, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
Canning is in the final stages of his recovery from a torn left Achilles that he suffered in June of 2025. Dylan Moore LF | PHI
Phillies' Dylan Moore: DFA'd by Philadelphia
The Phillies designated Moore for assignment Saturday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
The move corresponds with the Phillies activating J.T. Realmuto (back) from the 10-day injured list. Moore signed a major-league deal with the Phillies in March after initially triggering an opt-out clause in the minor-league contract he signed with the team. He served mostly in a reserve role for the Phillies and has yet to record a hit across 15 plate appearances this season. It remains to be seen whether Moore opts to stick around in the minors or explore his options elsewhere in free agency, assuming he does not get claimed off waivers.

J.T. Realmuto C | PHI
Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Activated, starting Saturday
The Phillies activated Realmuto (back) from the 10-day injured list Saturday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Realmuto landed on the 10-day injured list in late April due to back spasms, but he has been given the green light to return following a minimum stay on the IL. Dylan Moore was designated for assignment in a corresponding move, meaning the Phillies will carry three catchers on the 26-man roster in Realmuto, Rafael Marchan and Garrett Stubbs. Realmuto is slashing .259/.344/.352 with one home run and five RBI across 61 plate appearances this season, and he will start behind home plate and bat seventh against Miami on Saturday.

Reds' Nick Lodolo: Taking rehab to Triple-A
The Reds transferred Lodolo's (finger) rehab assignment to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.

He's been cleared to move his rehab assignment to Triple-A, and he may need just one outing with Louisville before being cleared to return to the big club. Lodolo is in the final stages of his recovery from a blister on his left index finger that landed him on the 15-day injured list prior to the start of the regular season.

Palencia landed on the 15-day injured list in mid-April due to a left lat strain. Marlins' Cade Gibson: Heading back to Triple-A
The Marlins optioned Gibson to Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Absent from Saturday's lineup
Hoerner (neck) is not in the Cubs' starting lineup against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Hoerner left Friday's game against Arizona due to neck tightness, and the injury will keep the veteran second baseman on the bench for Saturday's matinee. Matt Shaw will start at the keystone and bat eighth against right-hander Ryne Nelson.
