The Blue Jays are expected to promote Keys from Triple-A Buffalo ahead of Saturday's game against the Rangers, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Keys is with the Blue Jays for the start of the weekend series against Texas, but the move won't be made official until Saturday. Between Double-A and Triple-A this season, Keys has slashed .284/.409/.619 with 21 homers, 54 RBI, 55 runs scored, seven stolen bases and a 39:66 BB:K across 286 plate appearances. A corner infielder by trade, Keys doesn't have a clear path at those positions with Kazuma Okamoto and Vladimir Guerrero manning third base and first base, respectively. George Springer has also seen all of his at-bats at designated hitter this season. However, Toronto seems to want to inject Keys' power into the lineup.

Seager is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays.

According to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com, manager Skip Schumaker said Seager will have regular off days after he was reinstated from the 7-day concussion injured list Thursday. Ezequiel Duran is starting at shortstop and batting sixth for Texas against Cleveland lefty Joey Cantillo.

Witt (knee) is batting second as the designated hitter Friday against the White Sox.

Witt is back in the lineup for the first time since June 18, when he exited with a sprained MCL against the Cardinals. After missing the past week, Witt appears to be healthy enough to swing the bat and run the bases. Josh Rojas is making the start at shortstop and batting seventh for Kansas City. Witt is slashing .294/.368/.465 with 10 homers, 32 RBI, 40 runs scored, 28 stolen bases and a 35:57 BB:K across 337 plate appearances this season. He leads the American League in steals.

Holliday (groin) is batting eight and playing second base Friday against the Nationals, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Holliday is back in the starting lineup after opening the previous four games on the bench, though he was able to appear as a pinch hitter Wednesday against the Angels. Since making his season debut May 19, Holliday is slashing .198/.283/.384 with four homers, 12 RBI, 14 runs scored, three stolen bases and an 11:30 BB:K across 99 trips to the dish.

Keaschall is starting in right field and batting ninth Friday against the Rockies.

Keaschall will be making his first major-league start in right field Friday, as he's almost exclusively played second base at the big-league level the past two seasons. With Keaschall in right, Kody Clemens is manning second base for Minnesota. Keaschall has slashed an underwhelming .249/.331/.325 with two homers, 24 RBI, 38 runs scored, 11 stolen bases and a 29:47 BB:K across 302 trips to the plate this season.

The Blue Jays recalled Macko from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.

In a corresponding move, the Blue Jays designated Simeon Woods Richardson for assignment. Macko has appeared in 12 games for Toronto this season, posting a 1.50 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB across 12 innings.

Woods Richardson was acquired from the Twins earlier this month and has appeared in three games out of the bullpen for Toronto. While he hasn't allowed a run, the right-hander has an ugly 5:7 K:BB across 10 innings.

The Guardians designated Fairchild for assignment Friday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Cleveland needed the spot on the 40-man roster for prospect Cooper Ingle, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move. Fairchild took 27 plate appearances with the Guardians, but he struck out 14 times and recorded just three singles and seven walks.

McClanahan won't make a start during the Rays' series against the Diamondbacks this weekend and will be pushed back several days in the pitching schedule as Tampa Bay looks to monitor his workload, John Romano of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After not making any appearance at the big-league level over the past two seasons while recovering from August 2023 Tommy John surgery and then a nerve issue in his elbow that popped up last spring and required another procedure in August, McClanahan has staged a healthy and successful comeback in 2026. He's posted a 3.30 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 73.2 innings, but the 29-year-old southpaw has shown signs of wearing down of late. In his last four starts, McClanahan has gone 0-3 while yielding 16 runs (12 earned) on 25 hits and nine walks across 18.2 frames. The Rays seem confident that no injury is behind his recent struggles, but he'll nonetheless get some extended rest. The team has yet to announce who will replace him in the rotation Saturday.

The Guardians selected Ingle's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Friday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

To make room for Ingle on the 26-man and 40-man rosters, the Guardians DFA'd Stuart Fairchild. In his major-league debut Friday against the Mariners, Ingle will bat fifth as the designated hitter. The 24-year-old top prospect has slashed .284/.416/.551 with 12 homers, 41 RBI, 33 runs scored, one stolen base and a 41:50 BB:K across 221 trips to the plate at Triple-A this season. A catcher by trade, Ingle is also expected to get reps in left field with Cleveland.
