Vierling left Wednesday's game against the Orioles due to groin tightness, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Vierling suffered the injury after legging out a triple in the fifth inning. The Tigers will take a closer look at him during the team's off day Thursday, at which point more will be known regarding his status for the weekend series against the A's.

The Royals recalled Rave from Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday.

Rave will be up with the Royals for the second time this season after Vinnie Pasquantino (wrist) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. During his previous stint with the Royals, Rave handled a reserve role in the outfield and did well with his limited opportunities, reaching base on seven of his 21 plate appearances while providing four extra-base knocks.

The Royals placed Pasquantino on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to right wrist soreness.

Pasquantino will head to the IL for the second time this season due to an injury related to his right hand, as he previously underwent surgery June 14 to remove a fractured hamate bone. The 28-year-old doesn't appear to be dealing with as serious of an injury this time around, but he'll be unavailable until at least Aug. 8 while he waits for his wrist to heal. Salvador Perez and Jac Caglianone will likely serve as the main replacements at first base for Pasquantino in the short term, and Nick Loftin could become an option at the position when third baseman Maikel Garcia (hand) completes his rehab assignment and returns from the 10-day IL.

Jeffers is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Royals.

Jeffers will receive a day off after starting the last two and four of the past five games. Victor Caratini is behind the dish and will bat sixth for the Twins.

Buxton (hip) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Buxton had to be yanked from Tuesday's contest with right hip soreness, which is the same injury he just returned from last week. He's considered day-to-day for now, but another trip to the injured list could be in the offing if Buxton doesn't experience sufficient improvement in the coming days. Luke Keaschall will play center field for the Twins on Wednesday.

Mullins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays will give the left-handed-hitting Mullins the night off while southpaw MacKenzie Gore starts for the Rangers. Jonny DeLuca will take over in center field after Mullins had been included in the lineup in each of the previous four games.

Palacios is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After starting in each of the Rays' last three games, the left-handed-hitting Palacios will retreat to the bench while southpaw MacKenzie Gore takes the mound for the Rangers. Ben Williamson will replace Palacios at second base and will bat seventh.

Pasquantino (hand) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Pasquantino was lifted in the ninth inning of Tuesday's 3-2 loss after dealing with soreness in his right hand, the same one he had surgery on in mid-June to address a hamate fracture. Per MLB.com, the Royals planned to evaluate Pasquantino further Wednesday, but it's not yet clear if he'll need to miss more than one start. Salvador Perez will fill in for Pasquantino at first base.

The Rays placed Sulser on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to lower-back spasms.

Tampa Bay recalled right-hander Chris Roycroft from Triple-A Durham to take over Sulser's spot in the bullpen. Sulser, who owns a 4.86 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 46.1 innings with the Rays on the season, will be eligible to come off the IL on Aug. 10.

Tampa Bay optioned Roycroft to Triple-A on Saturday, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the big club just four days later after reliever Cole Sulser (back) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Roycroft is likely to be deployed in lower-leverage spots out of the bullpen while he's up with Tampa Bay.
