Ceddanne Rafaela CF | BOS
Red Sox's Ceddanne Rafaela: Nabs steal Friday
Rafaela went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Dodgers.
Rafaela is up to 12 steals on the year, though he has just two over his last 21 contests. In that span, he's batting a modest .234 (18-for-77) while adding only one walk, so it's not like he's had a lot of opportunities to run. The shortstop is at a .247/.273/.419 slash line with 11 home runs, 52 RBI, 45 runs scored, 16 doubles and four triples across 94 games this season.

Tyler O'Neill RF | BAL
Red Sox's Tyler O'Neill: Racks up three hits in loss
O'Neill went 3-for-4 in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Dodgers.
The multi-hit night did not obscure O'Neill's baserunning blunder in the top of the eighth inning. With one out and Boston leading, 1-0, he was doubled off first base on a short fly to left field, apparently misjudging the depth of the batted ball. The play preceded the Dodgers' four-run outburst to take the lead in the bottom half of the frame. O'Neill went just 3-for-27 over his last seven games before the All-Star break, though that came after he began July with three multi-hit efforts. The outfielder is now at a .260/.353/.496 slash line with 16 home runs, 31 RBI, 49 runs scored, three stolen bases and 12 doubles over 69 contests this season. O'Neill continues to hold down a starting role in Boston's outfield, though he has just seven homers over his last 50 games after beginning the year with nine long balls in 19 contests.

Jarren Duran LF | BOS
Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Provides lone run in loss
Duran went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Dodgers.
Fresh off an MVP performance at the All-Star Game, Duran got his second half off to a hot start, and his fifth-inning homer was his first long ball since July 2. The outfielder is up to a .286/.344/.488 slash line with 11 homers, 42 RBI, 63 runs scored, 22 stolen bases, 11 doubles and a major-league-leading 10 triples through 96 games.

Nick Pivetta SP | SD
Red Sox's Nick Pivetta: Strong start goes to waste
Pivetta allowed two hits and a walk while striking out eight over six scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.
Pivetta posted a scoreless outing for the fourth time this year, including twice over three starts in July. While he was able to keep the Dodgers at bay, Zack Kelly and Brennan Bernardino combined to unravel in the eighth inning, culminating in a game-deciding grand slam from Freddie Freeman. Pivetta's winless stretch is now at five starts, and he remains at 4-6 on the year despite a solid 3.87 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 96:21 K:BB through 81.1 innings over 15 starts. The right-hander is projected for a difficult road start at Colorado in his next outing.

Josh Hader RP | HOU
Astros' Josh Hader: Secures save Friday
Hader struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 3-0 win over the Mariners.
Hader got through the middle of the Mariners' order on a tidy 11 pitches (seven strikes) to earn his 19th save of the campaign. This was his fourth straight scoreless outing, an improvement on a stretch in which he allowed a run in four of six appearances from June 25 to July 7. The closer is at a 3.77 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 68:12 K:BB through 43 innings this season.

Hunter Brown SP | HOU
Astros' Hunter Brown: Throws six shutout innings
Brown (8-6) allowed four hits and three walks while striking out five over six shutout innings to earn the win over the Mariners on Friday.
Brown walked multiple batters for the fourth time in five starts, but his only loss in that span came the one time he issued a single free pass. He's kept opponents off the board in five of his last eight outings and has record a quality start in 10 of his last 11 trip to the mound. Brown's walk rate is about the only issue for him at this point -- he has a 3.5 BB/9 overall, though since May 22 he has a 2.7 mark. The 25-year-old has added a 4.14 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 110:41 K:BB through 104.1 innings across 20 appearances (19 starts). Brown is projected to face the Athletics in a road start next week.

Luis Castillo SP | CHW
Mariners' Luis Castillo: Quality start in loss
Castillo (8-10) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three over seven innings Friday, taking the loss versus the Astros.
All of the scoring came in the third inning, when Castillo allowed five straight batters (three hits, one walk, one hit-by-pitch) to reach base. While he was efficient, needing just 90 pitches (58 strikes) to get through seven frames, the Mariners' offense once again gave him little support. Castillo has logged three straight quality starts in July and now sits at a 3.55 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 119:35 K:BB through 124.1 innings over 21 starts this season. He's projected for a favorable home start versus the Angels in his next outing.

Jo Adell RF | CLE
Angels' Jo Adell: Picks up steal Friday
Adell went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 13-3 loss to the Athletics.
Adell is up to 11 steals on the year, including two over 13 games in July. He's hitting a mild .225 (9-for-40) this month, though that is an improvement on his .192 batting average for the season. The outfielder has added a .657 OPS, 15 home runs, 44 RBI, 36 runs scored, eight doubles and one triple over 294 plate appearances. While no move is imminent, Adell could lose playing time once Mike Trout (knee) is activated from the injured list, which is projected to happen in late July or early August.
-
Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA
Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Lifts ninth homer
Schanuel went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 13-3 loss to the Athletics.
Schanuel hadn't homered since June 16, but he hit a reliable .286 (26-for-91) over the 25 games between long balls. The first baseman is up to nine homers, 33 RBI, 33 runs scored, four stolen bases and a .242/.328/.362 slash line through 89 contests. Schanuel has regularly hit second since Anthony Rendon returned from a torn hamstring, though Schanuel still occasionally hits leadoff when Rendon is out of the lineup.

Zachary Neto SS | LAA
Angels' Zach Neto: Homers in three-hit game
Neto went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 13-3 loss to the Athletics.
Neto was hot entering the All-Star break and kept it up following the pause. He's gone 11-for-23 (.478) with five extra-base hits over his last seven contests. The shortstop continues to be one of the better hitters on the Angels' roster with a .257/.307/.446 slash line, 13 homers, 43 RBI, 39 runs scored and 14 stolen bases through 94 contests.
