  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Provides insurance in win

Duran went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Rangers. The Rangers made it a one-run game in the top of the eighth inning before Duran put it out of reach with a two-run blast in the bottom of the frame. The homer was 11th of the season for Duran, who clubbed nine during the month of May but entered Saturday batting .158 (6-for-38) with one RBI over his first nine games in June.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Moved out of leadoff spot

Duran will start in left field and bat fifth in Friday's game against the Rangers. It's the first time since April 25 that Duran has batted anywhere other than leadoff. After a strong showing in May during which he put up a .879 OPS with nine home runs and five stolen bases, Duran is just 5-for-33 with no homers, one steal and a 0:14 BB:K so far in June. Mickey Gasper is batting leadoff for the Red Sox on Friday.

Duran went 1-for-4 with a steal and a run scored during the Red Sox's 5-3 win over the Yankees on Friday. Duran logged his 11th steal of the season in the third inning and was brought home three batters later on an infield single by Willson Contreras. Duran has struggled for most of the season but has been far better at the plate as of late. Over his last 15 games, he has gone 20-for-66 (.303) with two steals, six home runs and 14 RBI.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Continues to heat up with homer

Duran went 2-for-6 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 9-1 win over the Guardians. Duran tacked on three insurance runs during Boston's six-run ninth inning Saturday to match his season high in RBI. The speedy outfielder has hit safely in seven consecutive games and nine of his last 10 outings, homering five times during that latter span. Through 212 at-bats this year, Duran is batting .217 with 19 extra-base hits, 32 RBI, 10 runs scored and 27 runs scored.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Homers again

Duran went 4-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 8-0 win over Atlanta. Duran homered for a second consecutive game and extended his on-base streak as Boston's leadoff batter to 11 games. During that run, he's slashed .333/.426/.711 with four home runs, nine RBI and seven runs scored. The multi-hit effort -- his fifth in the last nine contests -- raised his average to .213, its highest point since the second game of the season. It will be interesting to see if the Red Sox keep Duran at leadoff when Roman Anthony (finger) is ready to return.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Belts leadoff homer Tuesday

Duran went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to Atlanta. Duran took Spencer Strider deep to lead off the bottom of the first inning and later singled in the ninth to put the potential winning run on base for Boston. With the two-hit night, Duran has four multi-hit games in his last nine contests and is 11-for-37 (.297) during that span with three doubles, one triple, three homers, eight RBI, five runs scored and one stolen base. He's raised his slash line to a still-disappointing .198/.269/.365 across 212 plate appearances, but Duran has started to show signs of life with the bat.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Homers again

Duran went 2-for-5 with a triple, a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Kansas City. One day after whacking a three-run home run, Duran launched a two-run blast in the seventh inning Wednesday that proved to be the game-winning hit. The outfielder's bat has come alive over the last week, as he's gone 7-for-19 with three doubles, one triple, two home runs and six RBI over the last five contests.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Homers again Monday

Duran went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and a stolen base in Monday's 5-4 win over the Tigers. After Boston was held quiet early by Ty Madden, Duran flipped the game with one swing, launching a three-run homer off Ricky Vanasco in the seventh inning to give the Red Sox the lead. The blast was his fourth of the season and third in his last four games. The outfielder also added his sixth stolen base of the year, continuing to contribute on the bases. Despite the recent production, Duran's overall line remains dull, as he's now slashing .203/.260/.347 with 18 RBI across 127 plate appearances.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Provides offense in loss

Duran went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 3-1 extra-inning loss to Houston. Duran launched his third home run of the season in the fifth inning, the second long ball in the last three games. He took over the leadoff spot against right-handers recently and has hit safely in three straight contests after an initial 0-for-13 run over his first three games atop the order. Duran is slashing .186/.246/.310 over 29 games (122 plate appearances).

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Powers offense in win

Duran went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 3-1 win over the Astros. Duran's three-run blast in the third inning proved to be the game-winner. It was a much-needed swing, as the 29-year-old entered the game hitless over his previous four contests and hadn't gone deep since April 13. For the year, he owns a disappointing .173/.232/.279 slash line with two home runs, 14 RBI, 16 runs scored and five steals across 112 plate appearances.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Taking seat for series finale

Duran is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. Duran had been listed in the starting nine in Boston's initial lineup for the day, but he'll instead hit the bench while Roman Anthony replaces him in left field and atop the batting order. The Red Sox have yet to indicate that Duran was scratched due to any sort of physical issue, so it's possible that interim manager Chad Tracy has just changed his mind about the lineup and opted to rest the sixth-year outfielder. Duran had started in each of Boston's previous seven games and went hitless in the last three of those contests.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Supplies offense in loss

Duran went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Yankees. Duran's RBI single in the ninth inning snapped a string of 17 consecutive scoreless innings for the Red Sox the last two days and a 29.2-inning scoreless stretch against New York dating back to last year's postseason. The one positive takeaway for Boston is that this was the best game of the season for Duran, who entered the contest slashing .162/.240/.250 over 18 games. A major difference for Duran on Wednesday was that he replaced a leg kick with a toe tap, Ian Browne MLB.com reports.

  • Red Sox's Ceddanne Rafaela: Exiting starting nine Monday

Rafaela is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers. The Red Sox will give Rafaela a breather for their annual Patriots' Day game, paving the way for Jarren Duran to re-enter the lineup in center field after sitting for the past two contests. Rafaela has posted a career-best .739 through his first 20 games of 2026, though he's yet to provide his usual impact on the basepaths (zero steals in two attempts).

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Belts homer in loss

Duran went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 13-6 loss to the Twins. The Red Sox were already down 11-1 in the third inning when Duran popped his first home run of the season. He's hit safely and driven in runs in three consecutive games, going 4-for-14 with a double, a home run and six RBI. For the season, Duran is slashing .196/.293/.314 over 13 contests.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Three-run double in win Sunday

Duran went 1-for-4 with a three-run double, one walk and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Cardinals. With one out and the bases loaded in the top of the fourth inning, Duran plugged the gap in left-center with a bases-clearing, three-run double to give Boston a 6-1 lead. He later scored on a single by Willson Contreras. Like a number of Red Sox hitters, Duran has struggled early in the 2026 season. He's now slashing .196/.302/.261 with three doubles, eight RBI, nine runs scored, two stolen bases and a 6:14 BB:K across 53 trips to the plate. He has just two multi-hit games this season.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Idle against southpaw

Duran is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers. Duran will sit for the third time this season but for the first time against a lefty (Shane Drohan), after he had previously been included in the lineup in the Red Sox's lone other matchup versus a southpaw (Cincinnati's Andrew Abbott) back on Opening Day. With Duran on the bench, the Red Sox will use Roman Anthony in left field, while Trevor Story gets a day off from playing shortstop but stays in the lineup at designated hitter.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Exiting lineup Monday

Duran is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports. He'll take a seat for the second time in the Red Sox's first 10 games of the season as manager Alex Cora makes room in the lineup for Masataka Yoshida, who will serve as Boston's designated hitter in the series opener. Duran is one of multiple Boston hitters who has yet to get going at the dish amid the team's 2-7 start to the season; he's mustered a .200/.314/.267 slash line with zero home runs and two stolen bases over his 35 plate appearances.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Not starting Tuesday

Duran is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. Duran went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base Opening Day but is hitless across the past three games, though he has still worked four walks during the latter stretch. Masataka Yoshida will receive a start at designated hitter and bat third versus Houston ace Hunter Brown.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Heads to WBC on roll

Duran went 2-for-2 with a walk, two home runs, four RBI and a third run scored in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Twins. No Red Sox batter is hotter than Duran, who was the subject of trade rumors all offseason. His two-HR day followed up Friday's homer off Atlanta's Chris Sale. Duran has gone 7-for-12 with three walks, two doubles, three home runs and five RBI over five spring games. His power surge is an encouraging sign for a Boston team looking for offense heading into the regular season. The outfielder will soon depart spring training to participate in the World Baseball Classic for Team Mexico.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Could sit against left-handers

Duran might not start against left-handed pitchers this season, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com speculates. The Red Sox haven't been able to trade from their glut of outfielders this offseason and appear motivated to give Wilyer Abreu an opportunity to play every day, which means Duran could get squeezed out of an everyday role. The left-handed-hitting Duran slashed only .211/.260/.340 over 209 regular-season plate appearances against southpaw hurlers in 2025.
