  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Continues to heat up with homer

Duran went 2-for-6 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 9-1 win over the Guardians.

Duran tacked on three insurance runs during Boston's six-run ninth inning Saturday to match his season high in RBI. The speedy outfielder has hit safely in seven consecutive games and nine of his last 10 outings, homering five times during that latter span. Through 212 at-bats this year, Duran is batting .217 with 19 extra-base hits, 32 RBI, 10 runs scored and 27 runs scored.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Homers again

Duran went 4-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 8-0 win over Atlanta.

Duran homered for a second consecutive game and extended his on-base streak as Boston's leadoff batter to 11 games. During that run, he's slashed .333/.426/.711 with four home runs, nine RBI and seven runs scored. The multi-hit effort -- his fifth in the last nine contests -- raised his average to .213, its highest point since the second game of the season. It will be interesting to see if the Red Sox keep Duran at leadoff when Roman Anthony (finger) is ready to return.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Belts leadoff homer Tuesday

Duran went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to Atlanta.

Duran took Spencer Strider deep to lead off the bottom of the first inning and later singled in the ninth to put the potential winning run on base for Boston. With the two-hit night, Duran has four multi-hit games in his last nine contests and is 11-for-37 (.297) during that span with three doubles, one triple, three homers, eight RBI, five runs scored and one stolen base. He's raised his slash line to a still-disappointing .198/.269/.365 across 212 plate appearances, but Duran has started to show signs of life with the bat.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Homers again

Duran went 2-for-5 with a triple, a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Kansas City.

One day after whacking a three-run home run, Duran launched a two-run blast in the seventh inning Wednesday that proved to be the game-winning hit. The outfielder's bat has come alive over the last week, as he's gone 7-for-19 with three doubles, one triple, two home runs and six RBI over the last five contests.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Homers, reaches 10 stolen bases

Duran went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run, a double, two walks, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Royals.

Duran reached base in four of his five plate appearances, walking in his first two trips before doubling in the fifth inning and later launching a 366-foot three-run homer in the eighth to put the game away. The homer was his fifth of the season, and his stolen base gave him 10 on the year. After a power surge earlier in May, Duran had cooled off significantly entering Tuesday, batting just .125 with a 5:16 BB:K over his previous 12 games.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Homers again Monday

Duran went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and a stolen base in Monday's 5-4 win over the Tigers.

After Boston was held quiet early by Ty Madden, Duran flipped the game with one swing, launching a three-run homer off Ricky Vanasco in the seventh inning to give the Red Sox the lead. The blast was his fourth of the season and third in his last four games. The outfielder also added his sixth stolen base of the year, continuing to contribute on the bases. Despite the recent production, Duran's overall line remains dull, as he's now slashing .203/.260/.347 with 18 RBI across 127 plate appearances.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Provides offense in loss

Duran went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 3-1 extra-inning loss to Houston.

Duran launched his third home run of the season in the fifth inning, the second long ball in the last three games. He took over the leadoff spot against right-handers recently and has hit safely in three straight contests after an initial 0-for-13 run over his first three games atop the order. Duran is slashing .186/.246/.310 over 29 games (122 plate appearances).

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Powers offense in win

Duran went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 3-1 win over the Astros.

Duran's three-run blast in the third inning proved to be the game-winner. It was a much-needed swing, as the 29-year-old entered the game hitless over his previous four contests and hadn't gone deep since April 13. For the year, he owns a disappointing .173/.232/.279 slash line with two home runs, 14 RBI, 16 runs scored and five steals across 112 plate appearances.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Taking seat for series finale

Duran is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Duran had been listed in the starting nine in Boston's initial lineup for the day, but he'll instead hit the bench while Roman Anthony replaces him in left field and atop the batting order. The Red Sox have yet to indicate that Duran was scratched due to any sort of physical issue, so it's possible that interim manager Chad Tracy has just changed his mind about the lineup and opted to rest the sixth-year outfielder. Duran had started in each of Boston's previous seven games and went hitless in the last three of those contests.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Remains at leadoff

Duran batted leadoff and went 0-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Orioles.

Duran remained the leadoff hitter even with the return of Roman Anthony from a sore back. Anthony has been Boston's primary leadoff batter this season. It was the third time in the last five games that Duran was atop the order, all coming against right-handers. With a managerial change -- Chad Tracy replaced Alex Cora following Saturday's game -- more changes could be coming.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Supplies offense in loss

Duran went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Yankees.

Duran's RBI single in the ninth inning snapped a string of 17 consecutive scoreless innings for the Red Sox the last two days and a 29.2-inning scoreless stretch against New York dating back to last year's postseason. The one positive takeaway for Boston is that this was the best game of the season for Duran, who entered the contest slashing .162/.240/.250 over 18 games. A major difference for Duran on Wednesday was that he replaced a leg kick with a toe tap, Ian Browne MLB.com reports.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: On bench vs. righty

Duran is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

The 29-year-old outfielder sat two of the previous three games -- with both absences being against a southpaw starter -- but he's not starting Tuesday versus Yankees right-hander Luis Gil. Duran has yet to get on track offensively this season with a .497 OPS through 74 plate appearances, and he's been especially unproductive over his last four games, going 1-for-16 with a stolen base, two runs and six strikeouts.

  • Red Sox's Ceddanne Rafaela: Exiting starting nine Monday

Rafaela is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.

The Red Sox will give Rafaela a breather for their annual Patriots' Day game, paving the way for Jarren Duran to re-enter the lineup in center field after sitting for the past two contests. Rafaela has posted a career-best .739 through his first 20 games of 2026, though he's yet to provide his usual impact on the basepaths (zero steals in two attempts).

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: On bench for second straight

Duran is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Duran started the previous seven games before taking a seat for Saturday's contest, and he'll sit again Sunday while in the midst of a 5-for-34 slump. Lefty Framber Valdez is starting for Detroit, and Duran hasn't started against a southpaw since Opening Day. Roman Anthony is manning left field Sunday while Willson Contreras rests his legs as the designated hitter.
