Julio Rodriguez CF | SEA
Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Only source of offense Saturday
Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Astros on Saturday.
Rodriguez was responsible for the only runs of the game for the struggling Mariners, lifting a 382-foot shot to left in the sixth with Victor Robles aboard. The homer was Rodriguez's 11th of the season and fourth since July 4. It also serves as his only hit of the second half thus far across eight plate appearances after he went into the All-Star break hitting a blistering .591 over his final six games.

Matt Vierling CF | DET
Tigers' Matt Vierling: Resting Sunday
Vierling is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Vierling will hit the bench after going 10-for-33 (.303 average) with five extra-base hits, six RBI and seven runs while starting in each of the Tigers' last eight games either in center field or at third base. Riley Greene will cover center field Sunday, while Gio Urshela moves across the diamond and gets the nod at the hot corner.

Framber Valdez SP | DET
Astros' Framber Valdez: Strong through five innings
Valdez did not factor into the decision in a win over Seattle on Saturday, allowing two runs on three hits and four walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out six.
Valdez managed to keep Seattle off the board until the bottom of the sixth, when Julio Rodriguez took him deep for a two-run shot. The lefty was then relieved by Tayler Scott with two outs in the frame, narrowly missing out on his third straight quality start. Valdez hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last five outings, though he's now issued multiple free passes in five of his last six. Over that latter stretch he's 3-1 with a 37:17 K:BB.

Yoendrys Gomez RP | MIN
Yankees' Yoendrys Gomez: Rejoins big club
The Yankees recalled Gomez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
The right-hander has had a couple brief stints with the Yankees this season and will rejoin the big-league roster ahead of Sunday's series finale versus the Rays. Gomez has appeared in three games and given up five earned runs with a 9:6 K:BB over 7.2 innings.

Mark Canha LF | TEX
Tigers' Mark Canha: On bench for series finale
Canha is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Canha's playing time had been trending down heading into the All-Star break due to lingering wrist soreness and general ineffectiveness at the plate, but he picked up starts in both of the Tigers' first two games in Toronto, going 2-for-7 with a home run and two walks. He'll take a seat Sunday while the Tigers clear room in the lineup for Justyn-Henry Malloy at designated hitter and Bligh Madris at first base, but manager A.J. Hinch hasn't seemed to cut bait with Canha as a near-everyday player just yet.

Victor Robles RF | SEA
Mariners' Victor Robles: Swipes two bases Saturday
Robles went 1-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases and a run in an loss to the Astros on Saturday.
Robles drew another start in right field and eventually shifted over to left while notably working out of the No. 2 spot in the order for the first time. The hot-hitting veteran reached double digits in stolen bases for the third time in his career with his pair of swipes, his second multi-steal tally in the last three games. Robles is surging at the plate over the last eight games as well, hitting .444 (8-for-18) with three extra-base hits, two RBI, three walks, five total steals, a hit-by-pitch and four runs in that span. It remains to be seen if Saturday's lineup slotting is an outlier or is replicated in coming days, but Robles' run-scoring opportunities would figure to rise if the latter proves true.

Greg Weissert RP | BOS
Red Sox's Greg Weissert: Blown save, loss Saturday
Weissert (2-2) allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks over 1.1 innings, picking up a blown save and the loss in extra innings to the Dodgers on Saturday.
Weissert entered in the 10th inning and gave up a pair of run-scoring hits that wiped out Boston's two-run lead. He was allowed to come back for the 11th and permitted a walk-off, bases-loaded single. It was the second consecutive game that the Red Sox's bullpen blew a late-game lead, as the team may be feeling the absences of Justin Slaten (elbow) and Chris Martin (elbow). Weissert entered the contest having allowed 12 runs (10 earned) on 12 hits and four walks over his previous 7.2 innings.

Miguel Andujar DH | SD
Athletics' Miguel Andujar: Rips three more hits Saturday
Andujar went 3-for-4 with an RBI single and a run in a win over the Angels on Saturday.
Andujar put the bow on another impressive offensive performance by the Athletics with his seventh-inning single, which plated Max Schuemann with the final run of the game. Andujar has become an RBI machine of late, now having knocked in nine runs over the last 12 games while hitting a stellar .462 with men in scoring position over that span.

Kenley Jansen RP | DET
Red Sox's Kenley Jansen: Unable to hold lead
Jansen allowed one run on two hits and a walk, picking up a blown save in Saturday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Dodgers.
Jansen ceded a leadoff home run to former Red Sox and Dodgers teammate Enrique Hernandez in the bottom of the ninth, forcing extra frames. It was the second straight game that Boston's bullpen coughed up a late lead. The blown save was just the second of the season for Jansen, who has allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over his last three innings.

George Kirby SP | SEA
Mariners' George Kirby: Stuck with no-decision
Kirby did not factor into the decision in a loss to the Astros on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits over six innings while striking out six.
Kirby cruised through the first three frames before hitting Alex Bregman, who would later come around to score on a Jeremy Pena single, with a pitch to lead off the fourth. That would be the only run allowed by the right-hander on the night as Seattle's offense once again failed to provide him with much in terms of run support. Kirby has now logged eight quality starts in a row, though he has just two wins to show for it -- the most recent of which back on June 26. He's held his opponents to one earned run in back-to-back starts and now carries a 2.59 ERA in July to go along with a 26:4 K:BB.
