Osvaldo Bido RP | CHW
Athletics' Osvaldo Bido: Pitches five strong innings
Bido (2-1) got the win over the Astros on Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits while striking out six over five innings.
Bido made his second start of the season and his first since May 8 when he debuted this year and made easy work of a tough Astros lineup. His lone mistake was serving up a solo home run to Victor Caratini in the third. Bido struggled with his control early on in the year, as evidenced by his 11 walks over his first 14.1 innings pitched this season. However, he's turned things around by issuing zero free passes over his last nine innings. Bido's five innings and six strikeouts also matched his season highs. The 28-year-old owns a 3.09 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 22:11 K:BB in 23.1 innings and could end up permanently slotting into the Athletics' fifth rotation spot with Luis Medina being diagnosed with a right elbow sprain. Should Bido get another start, it would come this weekend against the Angels.

Josh H. Smith LF | TOR
Rangers' Josh Smith: Integral in win
Smith went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the White Sox.
Smith scored the Rangers' second run when he stole home on a double-steal in the first inning. It was his sixth steal in seven attempts. The infielder later gave the team a 3-1 lead in the eighth inning with a run-producing double. That insurance run became important when reliever Josh Sborz permitted a leadoff home run in the next frame. For Smith, the two-hit night halted an 0-for-14 skid since returning from the All-Star break.

Over the Athletics' last 11 games, Butler is slashing a ridiculous .488/.543/1.122 with six homers, four doubles, two triples, two steals and 20 RBI. He now has six straight multi-hit games. The 26-year-old is still having trouble hitting for average and may go a third consecutive season hitting under .220. Langeliers is currently slashing .211/.265/.441 with 53 RBI, 36 runs and a 21:94 BB:K in 332 plate appearances.

Guardians' Jhonkensy Noel: Clubs fifth homer
Noel went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Tigers.
Noel went 0-for-4 over his first three games following the All-Star break. He snapped the brief slump with the first multi-hit effort of his big-league career, and both knocks went for extra bases. Noel's power has come through early -- he's at five homers and two doubles through 18 contests for the Guardians this year. The slugger has added eight RBI and six runs scored while slashing .256/.313/.651 over 48 plate appearances. He hasn't been strictly limited to a short-side platoon role, but he's yet to secure a regular spot in the lineup.
