Orioles' Zach Eflin: Traded to Baltimore
The Orioles acquired Eflin from the Rays on Friday in exchange for outfielder Matthew Etzel, pitcher Jackson Baumeister and outfielder Mac Horvath, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
The right-hander allowed two runs over 5.2 frames in a no-decision Wednesday in Toronto, and that will end up being his final start for Tampa Bay. Eflin posted a 3.50 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 186:24 K:BB over a career-high 177.2 innings last season, though he's been unable to replicate those results this year and has a 4.09 ERA through 19 starts. Liam Hendriks RP | CHC
Red Sox's Liam Hendriks: Completes bullpen session
Hendricks (elbow) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Friday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Hendricks has been ramping up in July, but he has yet to mix in his full array of pitches during a bullpen session. Still, it's an encouraging sign for the 35-year-old in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. Hendricks could advance to facing live hitters soon before beginning a rehab assignment.

Yimi Garcia RP | TOR
Mariners' Yimi Garcia: Headed to Seattle
The Mariners acquired Garcia from the Blue Jays on Friday in exchange for outfielder Jonatan Clase and catcher Jacob Sharp, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Garcia has been one of the better relievers in baseball this season, posting a 2.70 ERA and 42:8 K:BB K:BB over 30 innings while recording five saves. He will be part of the late-inning picture in Seattle but will likely be behind Andres Munoz in the pecking order for saves.

White Sox's Nicky Lopez: On bench Friday

Isiah Kiner-Falefa 2B | BOS
Blue Jays' Isiah Kiner-Falefa: Rehab assignment scheduled
Kiner-Falefa (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Kiner-Falefa is slated to be at third base Saturday, designated hitter Sunday and shortstop Tuesday, with a return to the Blue Jays coming after that if all goes well. He's been out since early July with a left knee sprain and has been mentioned as a possible trade candidate. Players can be traded while on the IL, so the fact that Kiner-Falefa isn't scheduled to return until after the deadline wouldn't necessarily preclude a trade.

Red Sox's Chris Martin: Resumes throwing program
Martin (elbow) has resumed throwing and is playing catch, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports Friday.
Martin's throwing program was paused July 13 due to discomfort in his right elbow, but he's beginning to ramp up again. The 38-year-old has been on the injured list since July 5 due to elbow inflammation and seems to be multiple weeks away from returning.
