Miguel Andujar DH | SD
Athletics' Miguel Andujar: Productive at plate in loss
Andujar went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run in a loss to the Mets on Wednesday.
Andujar provided the only extra-base hit of the game for the Athletics while also crossing the plate with Oakland's sole run. The veteran's bat has reignited since just before the calendar flipped to August, as he's now sporting a .317 average and .768 OPS across his last 11 games, albeit with just two extra-base hits in that span.

Jacob Wilson SS | ATH
Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Starting rehab assignment Saturday
Wilson (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Wilson has been sidelined since straining his left hamstring during his major-league debut July 19, but he's progressed to the point that he's ready to play in games again. The young shortstop shouldn't need an extended rehab assignment before rejoining the Athletics' active roster. Wilson was expected to receive regular run at shortstop prior to the injury, and incumbent starter Max Schuemann's .521 OPS thus far in August is unlikely to change those plans.

Darell Hernaiz SS | ATH
Athletics' Darell Hernaiz: On base three times Wednesday
Hernaiz went 2-for-3 with a walk in a loss to the Mets on Wednesday.
Hernaiz had one of two multi-hit efforts for the Athletics in a game where their bats quieted considerably. The rookie finally pulled his season average up to the Mendoza Line with Wednesday's production, and he's now hitting an even .300 over the 22 plate appearances covering his last six games.

Mitch Haniger RF | SEA
Mariners' Mitch Haniger: Squeezed out of lineup
Haniger is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.
Haniger had started in all but two of the Mariners' previous 18 games, but he'll hit the bench Thursday and looks like he could be at risk of losing hold of his near-everyday role with both Dominic Canzone and Julio Rodriguez recently making returns from the injured list. Canzone will start in right field Thursday, while Rodriguez is out of the lineup after aggravating a right ankle injury Wednesday, though the Mariners don't believe the 23-year-old will have to return to the IL. Assuming Rodriguez is back in action in short order as the Mariners' primary designated hitter, Haniger may have to settle for the short side of a platoon in the outfield with the lefty-hitting Canzone.

Abraham Toro 1B | BOS
Athletics' Abraham Toro: Sitting again Thursday
Toro is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.
He appears to have lost hold of a regular spot at third base to rookie Darell Hernaiz. Toro finds himself on the bench Thursday for the fourth time in five games, with the last two absences coming against left-handed pitchers and the first two coming versus righties. The Athletics will return everyday designated hitter Brent Rooker (personal) from the paternity list later this weekend, so Toro's outlook for playing time will likely only worsen in the coming days.

Lawrence Butler RF | ATH
Athletics' Lawrence Butler: Getting afternoon off
Butler is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.
Though he picked up a start Wednesday against Mets southpaw David Peterson and went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a 9-1 loss, the lefty-hitting Butler will hit the bench Thursday as New York sends a second straight lefty (Jose Quintana) to the bump. Daz Cameron will check in for Butler in right field.
-
Seth Brown LF | ATH
Athletics' Seth Brown: Idle against lefty
Brown is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.
The lefty-hitting Brown finds himself on the bench for the second day in a row while the Mets send another southpaw (Jose Quintana) to the hill. Armando Alvarez will fill in for Brown at first base.

Will Warren SP | NYY
Yankees' Will Warren: Sent back to minors
The Yankees optioned Warren to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.
Warren turned in a solid spot start in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the White Sox, taking a no-decision while allowing two runs over five frames. He'll rejoin the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre rotation and would likely be the first hurler called upon when/if the Yankees need another starter.

Zach McKinstry RF | DET
Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Retreating to bench
McKinstry is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners.
McKinstry will hit the bench for the series finale after he had started in each of Detroit's last three games while going 3-for-12 with two doubles, one walk and two runs across those contests. Though McKinstry's bat has warmed up in August, the Tigers still seem to view him mostly as a utility player. His playing time is likely to take a hit once Detroit gets Riley Greene (hamstring) back from the injured list, perhaps as soon as this weekend or early next week.

Jake Rogers C | CHW
Tigers' Jake Rogers: Resting in series finale
Rogers is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners.
After driving in a career-high seven runs in the Tigers' 15-1 win Tuesday in the series opener, Rogers was awarded a second straight start at catcher Wednesday, but he went hitless in three at-bats in Detroit's 3-2 victory. He'll give way to Dillon Dingler behind the plate in the series finale, and the two backstops seem poised to operate in a timeshare moving forward.
