Julio Rodriguez CF | SEA
Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Sitting out Thursday
Rodriguez (ankle) is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.
Rodriguez departed Wednesday's 3-2 loss with a right ankle issue, which is the same injury he just returned from this past weekend. The Mariners don't seem to believe it's a serious setback for Rodriguez, with manager Scott Servais noting that the 23-year-old campaigned to play Thursday before the team opted to give him more rest and treatment, per Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com. Rodriguez had served as the Mariners' designated hitter in each of his three starts since coming off the IL, but Justin Tuner will handle DH duties Thursday.

Gio Urshela 3B | MIN
Tigers' Gio Urshela: Absent from lineup
Urshela is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Mariners.
Urshela had four hits -- including a home run -- in Tuesday's 15-1 win in the series opener before going hitless in Wednesday's 3-2 victory. He'll defer to Andy Ibanez at third base in Thursday's matinee.

Justyn-Henry Malloy 3B | TB
Tigers' Justyn-Henry Malloy: Batting leadoff Thursday
Malloy will start in left field and bat leadoff in Thursday's game against the Mariners.
Malloy had a pinch-hit single in the first game of the series and reached base three times in the second contest after being a late addition to the lineup. That's earned him not only another start in the series finale, but also his first-ever look at the leadoff spot.

Matt Vierling CF | DET
Tigers' Matt Vierling: Day off Thursday
Vierling is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Mariners.
Vierling looks to be receiving a routine day off after he picked up three hits, stole a base and scored three runs in the first two games of the series. Akil Baddoo will get the start in right field for the Tigers while Vierling heads to the bench.
-
Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Back in lineup Thursday
Baez (hip) will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Thursday's game versus the Mariners.
Baez was a late scratch from the lineup ahead of Wednesday's 3-2 win over Seattle due to a hip issue, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go in Thursday's series finale. The Tigers will be going for a three-game sweep.

Bryan Woo SP | SEA
Mariners' Bryan Woo: Strong start wasted Wednesday
Woo came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Tigers, scattering four hits over seven scoreless innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.
The right-hander put together another brilliant performance, generating 29 called or swinging strikes among his 85 pitches, but Woo wound up settling for his third straight quality start and seventh of the season when his bullpen couldn't get the job done. Through three outings in August, he's delivered a 1.31 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 19:1 K:BB through 20.2 innings, and he seems fully recovered from the hamstring issues that began bothering him in late June. Woo will face a tough test in his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week against the Dodgers.

Coby Mayo 3B | BAL
Orioles' Coby Mayo: Collects first MLB hit
Mayo went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Nationals.
Getting the start at third base and batting eighth, Mayo banged out the first hit of his big-league career with a single to lead off the fifth inning. The 22-year-old had gone 0-for-15 since his promotion coming into Wednesday, but his .301/.375/.586 slash line at Triple-A Norfolk this season is a reminder that the hits could come in bunches for Mayo once he gets comfortable.

Gunnar Henderson SS | BAL
Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Launches homer No. 30
Henderson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Nationals.
The 23-year-old shortstop took DJ Herz deep in the first inning, and it proved to be all the offense that Dean Kremer and the Baltimore bullpen would need. Henderson is slashing .306/.358/.490 through 12 games in August, and Wednesday's homer gave him 30 for the season, the first time -- but almost certainly not the last -- he's reached that mark in his career.

Seranthony Dominguez RP | SEA
Orioles' Seranthony Dominguez: Racks up third save
Dominguez walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his third save of the season, and second with the Orioles, in a 4-1 win over the Nationals.
Craig Kimbrel last pitched Sunday, but it was still Dominguez that manager Brandon Hyde turned to in the ninth Wednesday to protect a three-run lead. There's been no official word that Kimbrel is out as Baltimore's closer, but his hold on the job is looking tenuous at the moment. Since coming over from the Phillies, Dominguez has produced an impressive 1.00 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB through nine innings, and he's picked up the last two saves for the O's.

Dean Kremer SP | MIN
Orioles' Dean Kremer: Sharp in fifth win
Kremer (5-9) picked up the win in Wednesday's 4-1 victory over the Nationals, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out three.
The right-hander wasn't dominant, managing only six swinging strikes among his 92 pitches, but Kremer was able to ride a two-run homer from Gunnar Henderson in the first inning to his first win since July 3. Wednesday's quality start was only his second in his last 10 trips to the mound, with the other quality start coming with three unearned runs. Over that 10-start stretch, Kremer has stumbled to a 5.22 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 47:22 K:BB in 50 innings. He'll try to build on Wednesday's momentum in his next outing, which lines up to come on the read early next week against the Mets.
