Torres aggravated a rib injury during Friday's game against the Dodgers, Jeff Seidel of The Detroit Free Press reports.

Torres was grabbing at his left side after hitting a home run in the third inning Friday. He remained in the game for a few additional innings but was eventually removed in the sixth, though the team said after the game that his removal was precautionary due to a rib injury that he's been fighting recently. The Tigers may continue to take a cautious approach and keep Torres out for a game or two, though a trip to the IL doesn't seem imminent.

Torkelson went 2-for-5 with a double in Friday's 8-5, 10-inning loss to the Dodgers. He also stole a base.

Torkelson walked four times and launched a home run on Opening Day, and he followed that performance up with two more hits and his first stolen base of the season Friday. The 25-year-old isn't known for his speed, as he came into the year with only three career steals at the MLB level, but he should hit plenty of long balls if he remains in the lineup most days.

The Rays recalled Mangum from Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

At 29 years old, Mangum will finally get a chance to make his MLB debut following Josh Lowe's (oblique) move to the injured list. Mangum spent all of last season in Triple-A, slashing .317/.357/.442 with 56 RBI and 20 stolen bases across 428 plate appearances. He'll provide the Rays with some additional outfield depth until Lowe returns.

The Rays placed Lowe on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right oblique strain, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Lowe injured himself on a swing during Friday's contest, and an MRI revealed a Grade 2 strain in his oblique, per Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun. It's unclear exactly how long the 27-year-old will be out, but there's a good chance he'll need to spend several weeks on the IL. In the meantime, Kameron Misner could pick up regular playing time in right field, while Jake Mangum will come up from Triple-A Durham to replenish Tampa Bay's outfield depth.

Duran went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Rangers.

Duran picked up where left off in 2024, when he stole 34 bases (caught seven times). He's stolen bases in each of the first two games while serving as Boston's leadoff batter.

Moncada (thumb) will start at third base and bat fifth Saturday against the White Sox, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Moncada didn't start the Angels' season opener Thursday due to a thumb issue that was giving him problems during spring training, but he was able to enter as a pinch hitter and draw a walk. Now seemingly recovered, he's set to make his first start at the hot corner since March 12.

Story went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 4-1 loss to Texas.

Story singled in the fourth inning, stole second and came in to score on a Wilyer Abreu single. It was the second steal in as many games for Story, who had double-digit steals each season from 2018 to 2023. His first three years with Boston have not gone well (.693 OPS, 163 games), making it easy to forget his level of production while with Colorado. The 32-year-old may never get back to those Rockies' numbers, but a healthy Story will serve as a middle-of-the-order bat for Boston.

Renfroe is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

Renfroe went 0-for-4 with a strikeout on Opening Day and will now step out of the lineup Saturday. His absence will open up a spot in the lineup for Cavan Biggio to bat eighth while covering first base.

Santander went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's win over the Orioles.

A first-inning single off Charlie Morton gave Santander his first hit with Toronto, and he added another as part of a five-run fourth inning for the Blue Jays. The 30-year-old slugger hasn't produced an extra-base hit yet in 2025, but those should come soon enough -- he banged out at least 70 in each of the last two seasons for the O's, including a career-high 44 homers in 2024.

Devers went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Rangers.

Devers' first two games in a new role as the designated hitter have not been pretty. He's 0-for-8 with seven strikeouts (six swinging). While some may conclude the adjustment from playing the field to being a batter only has impacted Devers, Red Sox manager Alex Cora summed it up quite succinctly to Ian Browne of MLB.com. "Not catching up with the fastball," Cora said. "It's very simple. [He's getting] 3-2 counts. The at-bats are OK, but not being able to cash in." Devers didn't disagree with the manager. He dealt with injuries to both shoulders during spring training, which delayed his Grapefruit League debut until March 15, and finished the spring with just 15 plate appearances. That could be part of the issue, although Devers said he did the necessary work on his swing on the back fields.
