Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Hits 100 mph in first rehab start
Jobe (elbow) struck out a batter and allowed one earned run on two hits and no walks over 1.1 innings in a rehab start Tuesday with Single-A Lakeland.
Pitching in a game for the first time since May 28, 2025, Jobe was eased back into action with a light workload coming off Tommy John surgery. He threw 32 pitches (24 strikes) en route to retiring four of the six batters he faced in the first appearance of what will likely be close to a month-long rehab assignment. Perhaps the most encouraging aspect of Jobe's rehab start was that he already seems to have recaptured his pre-surgery velocity; he topped out at 100.2 mph with his fastball, per MLB.com. In order to claim a spot in Detroit's rotation once he returns from the 60-day injured list, Jobe will need to show that he can maintain both velocity and command while he ups his pitch count during his subsequent minor-league outings.

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Starting rehab assignment
Jobe (elbow) is beginning a rehab assignment with Single-A Lakeland on Tuesday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
The right-hander progressed to facing live batters the past couple weeks and has now been cleared to pitch in games. Jobe is working his way back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in June of 2025, so it's sure to be a lengthy rehab assignment before he's deemed ready for his season debut with the Tigers.

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Will throw live BP on Saturday
Jobe (elbow) will throw live batting practice Saturday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Jobe will continue his rehab at the Tigers' facility in Lakeland, Fla. He's already thrown handfuls of bullpen sessions and will now progress to facing live hitters this weekend, as the right-hander works his way back from Tommy John surgery. Jobe has a good chance to pitch for Detroit in the second half of the season.

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Close to facing hitters again
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Tuesday that Jobe (elbow) is expected to resume facing hitters in live batting practice "in a few weeks," Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Jobe has been conducting his rehab from last June's Tommy John surgery at the Tigers' facility in Lakeland, Fla., but he met up with the big club this week for its series versus Tampa Bay at Tropicana Field. He threw a lengthy bullpen session Tuesday in front of the Tigers' medical team and coaching staff, with Hinch noting afterward that the Detroit brass came away encouraged from the workout. Hinch said that Jobe has now completed about 10 or 11 bullpen sessions, setting the stage for him to take the next step forward in the rehab process by facing hitters. The Tigers remain hopeful that Jobe will be able to return from the 60-day injured list at some point after the All-Star break.

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Throws bullpen session
Jobe (elbow) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Jobe continues to progress in his recovery from the Tommy John surgery he underwent last June. The 23-year-old isn't expected to be back with Detroit until late this season or the start of 2027, but he's avoided setbacks thus far as he builds up his throwing program.

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Begins mound work
Jobe (elbow) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
This marks the first time that Jobe has thrown off a mound since he underwent Tommy John surgery last June. The 23-year-old righty still has a long way to go in his recovery process and isn't expected back until August or September at the earliest, but it's an encouraging sign of progress for one of Detroit's top young arms.

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Throwing from 120 feet
Jobe (elbow) is scheduled to play catch out to 120 feet three times this week, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Jobe continues to slowly ramp up his throwing program, as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery. There's a chance Jobe could pitch toward the end of the 2026 season, but it also wouldn't be surprising to see the Tigers keep Jobe shelved until spring training next year.

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Slowly ramps up throwing program
Jobe (elbow) is scheduled to play catch out to 105 feet three times this week, MLB.com reports.
Jobe was previously capped at throwing from 90 feet three times per week, so this is a small step, but he still has a long way to go in his recovery from the Tommy John surgery he underwent last June. The 23-year-old righty might be able to return near the end of the 2026 regular season, though it wouldn't be surprising if the Tigers play things safe and keep Jobe on the shelf until 2027.

Jobe (elbow) is scheduled to play catch out to 90 feet three times during the upcoming week, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
The right-hander has avoided any setbacks since undergoing Tommy John surgery June 16, but Jobe is still in the early stages of his rehab program. He's already been placed on the 60-day injured list and isn't being counted on to contribute until September, if he pitches this season at all.

Jobe underwent Tommy John surgery in June and will officially open the 2026 season on the injured list while he continues his recovery. Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Aiming to be ready by September
Tigers president of baseball operations Scott Harris said Monday that the team is hopeful Jobe (elbow) will be ready to pitch in games by September, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Jobe underwent Tommy John surgery in June. Prepping for game action late in the 2026 regular season is a reasonable goal, but it's likely Jobe will not be a significant contributor to the Tigers again until 2027.
