Wong will start Saturday's game against the Cardinals, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Wong was held out of the lineup for two straight games but is scheduled to be part of the starting crew Saturday and Sunday. It was mildly surprising to see Carlos Narvaez start Friday's home opener, but Narvaez may be the preferred catcher whenever Walker Buehler starts.

Paris went 2-for-2 with a run in a loss to the Guardians on Friday.

Paris didn't start the contest, but he still got three plate appearances after entering for Luis Rengifo (hamstring) in the fourth inning. Paris reached base in all three of his plate appearances (in addition to two singles, he was also hit by a pitch) and is now slashing a scorching .545/.643/1.000 over 14 plate appearances on the season. He's made only two starts so far, but there could be an opening for Paris to get into the lineup more regularly, at least in the short term, if Rengifo and/or Yoan Moncada (thumb) -- both of whom departed Friday's game early -- need to miss time.

Jeffers isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Houston.

Jeffers will take a day off after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts during a loss in Friday's series opener. His absence will allow Christian Vazquez to start behind the dish while batting ninth.

Casas went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in Friday's 13-9 win over St. Louis.

Casas, who belted his first home run of the season in Thursday's win over Baltimore, followed it up with two more extra-base hits Friday. The first baseman opened the season on a 2-for-21 run, but he appears to have found his swing over the last two games.

Story went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's 13-9 win over the Cardinals.

Story got Fenway Park rocking in Boston's home opener with a three-run blast in the first inning. It was his second homer in the last three games. Healthy again after three injury-plagued seasons, Story could finally deliver on a six-year contract he signed in 2022.

O'Hoppe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's loss to Cleveland.

O'Hoppe tried to rally the Angels from a late deficit with his solo blast to center field in the ninth inning, but his team ultimately fell two runs short. The talented young backstop's homer was his second in as many games and his third overall this season. Among MLB catchers, only Ivan Herrera has more long balls (four) in the early part of the campaign.

Schmidt (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Somerset on Saturday.

Schmidt has built up to 46 pitches while pitching in simulated games, and he'll likely require a couple of starts in the minor leagues to get up to a proper starter's workload. Barring any setbacks, he remains on track to return in mid-April.

Langford went 0-for-2 with an RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 5-2 win over Tampa Bay. He was also hit by a pitch.

Langford knocked in Texas' fourth run with a sacrifice fly and later stole his first base of the season after getting hit by a pitch. He recorded 19 steals (caught three times) during his 2024 rookie campaign.

Higashioka went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 5-2 win over the Rays.

Higashioka knocked in the first of four runs the Rangers scored in the third inning. He has taken on an equitable share of the catching position alongside Jonah Heim. Each player has started four games. Higashioka is batting .250 (3-for-12) with two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored so far this season.

Noel started in right field and went 0-for-2 in Friday's 8-6 win over the Angels.

Noel, who made his first start against a right-hander this season, was eventually pinch hit for by Nolan Jones, who had started the previous games against righties. Noel is 1-for-11 (.091) to start the season and has gone nine at-bats without a hit.
