  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Handed third loss

Prielipp (1-3) took the loss Wednesday against the White Sox after giving up six runs on eight hits while walking three and striking out five in 4.1 innings. Prielipp lost control of the game in the fifth inning, where he gave up three of his six runs after keeping the game close for most of his start. Prielipp has now given up five or more earned runs in consecutive starts after having allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his first five major-league outings. Wednesday's rocky outing raised Prielipp's ERA to 5.13 and WHIP to 1.35 over 33.1 innings. The rookie will look to find his footing at home in a rematch at home against the White Sox next week.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Jumped early in no-decision

Prielipp did not factor into the decision in Friday's 8-6 win over the Red Sox, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits and three walks with one strikeout over four innings. Prielipp yielded four runs in the first frame and struggled with his command overall, throwing just 49 of 85 pitches for strikes with only seven whiffs. It was the first major hiccup of the season for the rookie, who entered Friday having allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his first five major-league outings. He now owns a 4.03 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 30:12 K:BB across 29 innings and will aim to bounce back in a road matchup against the White Sox next week.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Fans eight in quality start

Prielipp (1-2) allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over six innings in a loss to Milwaukee on Saturday. Despite the defeat, Prielipp pitched very well, as the only earned run against him came on a Jackson Chourio solo homer in the sixth inning. Prielipp tallied a career-high eight punchouts despite inducing a modest nine whiffs, and he picked up his first quality start by completing six innings for the first time as a big-leaguer. The southpaw entered the Twins' rotation April 22 and has pitched well since, as he's yet to give up more than two earned runs in any of his five starts. Overall, Prielipp has registered a 2.88 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB across 25 innings.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Takes first loss

Prielipp (1-1) took the loss Friday against the Guardians, surrendering four runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out six batters over five innings. Prielipp got into trouble quickly Friday, allowing the first three batters he faced to reach base. A fielding error by Luke Keaschall allowed the Guardians to put their first run on the board, Rhys Hoskins' sacrifice fly scored another and Travis Bazzana's first career home run made it a 4-0 game in the first inning. Prielipp allowed just three more batters to reach base over the next four innings, but Minnesota's comeback effort fell short. Keaschall's error allowed for just one of Cleveland's first-inning runs to count against Prielipp, giving the 25-year-old lefty four consecutive starts with no more than two earned runs allowed. He'll aim to make it five straight when he takes the mound next week against Miami.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Tosses five frames in no-decision

Prielipp completed five innings against Toronto in a no-decision Saturday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four batters. Prielipp gave up a pair of solo homers in the second inning but was otherwise unscored upon. The rookie lefty needed 91 pitches (59 strikes) to get through his five innings but walked an acceptable two batters and notched 10 whiffs en route to four punchouts. Prielipp has yet to complete more than five innings in any of his three starts so far, but he's holding his own in the majors with a 3.86 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB across 14 frames. He's up with the team while Mick Abel (elbow) resides on the injured list, but Prielipp is pitching well enough to at least make Minnesota think about his spot on the big-league roster long term.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Earns first win Monday

Prielipp (1-0) earned the win Monday, allowing two runs on a hit and three walks over five innings against the Mariners. He struck out five. Prielipp was in control for much of his second big-league start, allowing just one baserunner before surrendering two runs in the fifth inning. The rookie southpaw leaned heavily on his slider, throwing it 36 times among 84 pitches and generating six whiffs on the bender. Through his first two MLB appearances, Prielipp has allowed four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out 11 across nine innings.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Fans six in MLB debut

Prielipp didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Mets. He allowed two runs on four hits while striking out six across four innings. Prielipp tossed 52 of his 82 pitches for strikes in his major-league debut, but he gave up runs in the first and fourth innings via an RBI single from Francisco Lindor (calf) and an RBI double from Francisco Alvarez. With Mick Abel (elbow) sidelined, Prielipp could stay in the Twins' rotation for more than one start. If that's the case, he tentatively lines up to make his next start next week at home against the Mariners.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Fails to crack Opening Day roster

The Twins optioned Prielipp to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday. Prielipp was one of nine players sent out of big-league camp in the Twins' latest round of roster cuts. Minnesota added the 25-year-old southpaw to the 40-man roster this offseason after he accrued a 4.03 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 98:31 K:BB across 82.2 innings between stops with St. Paul and Double-A Wichita.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Likely to remain a starter

Prielipp threw 1.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts and three walks in his spring debut Monday. He's likely to remain a starter at Triple-A to start the season, considering the Twins signed three veteran left-handed relievers in the offseason, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. He's a darkhorse candidate for the bullpen this spring given his arsenal, which includes a fastball that hit 97.5 mph during Monday's outing and a new slow curveball, according to Matthew Leach of MLB.com, to add to an off-speed mix that includes a slider and changeup. The 48th overall draft pick in 2022 had Tommy John surgery in 2021 and then needed internal brace surgery on the same elbow in July 2023. The Twins limited him to pitching less than five innings in any start last season until late September.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Shielded from Rule 5 Draft

The Twins selected Prielipp's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday. Prielipp spent most of the 2025 season at Double-A Wichita before receiving a promotion to St. Paul, where he posted a 5.14 ERA and 1.57 WHIP across 21 innings in five appearances (four starts). The 24-year-old is ineligible for the Rule 5 Draft now that he holds a spot on the Twins' 40-man roster, though he will most likely be sent back to Triple-A to begin 2026 so he can continue his development.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Promoted to Triple-A

Prielipp has been promoted to Triple-A St. Paul from Double-A Wichita. Prielipp had a 3.65 ERA at Double-A with 27.0 percent strikeout rate and 6.7 percent walk rate. Prielipp has a lengthy injury history that includes Tommy John surgery in 2021 and an internal brace surgery in 2023. The organization has him on an innings limit this season, and he hasn't gone more than 4.2 innings or 76 pitches in any start. It's not clear how much he'll pitch at Triple-A the rest of the season, but this show's the 2022 second-round draft pick could be the team's plans for 2026.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Begins season on pitch count

Prielipp gave up two runs with three strikeouts and a walk over two innings in his first start Saturday for Double-A Wichita. He'll begin the season as a starting pitcher but on a strict pitch count, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports. The 48th overall draft pick in 2022 hasn't been able to stay healthy, as he needed Tommy John surgery in 2021 and then needed internal brace surgery on the same elbow in July 2023. He threw just 23.1 innings last year while working his way back from the latter injury. It's not clear if the Twins will keep him as a starter or move him to the bullpen long term, but he has the strikeout rate to be an impact arm in the majors (41.6% K% at High-A last season).

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Makes return from IL

High-A Cedar Rapids reinstated Prielipp (elbow) from its 60-day injured list Monday. After requiring surgery last July to address a torn UCL in his left elbow, Prielipp opened the season on Cedar Rapids' IL before he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League shortly before the All-Star break. He received the green light to rejoin Cedar Rapids after turning in two dazzling rehab outings in the FCL, with the southpaw striking out eight while issuing no walks and allowing just two hits over four scoreless innings between those starts. Prielipp should make his 2024 debut for Cedar Rapids later this week but will likely have his pitch count monitored carefully.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: Undergoes UCL repair

Prielipp underwent a UCL repair with the inclusion of an internal brace Monday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Hayes notes that Prielipp didn't need a full Tommy John surgery and was instead able to undergo an internal brace procedure, which is a less-invasive outcome. A timetable for a return has yet to be established for the 22-year-old left-hander.

  • Twins' Connor Prielipp: To IL with elbow issue

Prielipp is on the 7-day injured list at High-A Cedar Rapids while the team evaluates his surgically repaired left elbow, sportswriter Jeff Johnson reports. The 48th overall pick in last year's draft, Prielipp made his first pro start April 8, giving up three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three in four innings. He had Tommy John surgery in 2021 and threw only 28 innings during his time at Alabama.
