Twins' C.J. Culpepper: Returns from IL
Culpepper (undisclosed) was activated off Double-A Wichita's 60-day injured list Saturday and threw three scoreless innings while allowing three hits and no walks and striking out four batters.
Culpepper began the season on the shelf after he had difficulty ramping up this spring, but no specific injury was cited by the Twins. The 23-year-old right-hander had an outstanding season at High-A Cedar Rapids in 2024 with a 2.89 ERA and 28.9 percent strikeout rate, but he struggled to a 4.71 ERA at Double-A after being promoted.

Twins' C.J. Culpepper: Having trouble ramping up
Double-A Wichita placed Culpepper on the 7-day injured list as he's had a hard time ramping up this spring, Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reports.
Culpepper had a forearm strain last summer that limited him to 58.1 total innings across High-A and Double-A. There isn't an official injury diagnosis this time around, but it doesn't sound like his 2025 debut is imminent.

Culpepper returned to action Sunday against Quad Cities, striking out three over two perfect innings. The right-hander was sidelined for approximately two months due to a forearm strain. Over his 32.1 innings at Cedar Rapids this season, Culpepper has generated a 3.06 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB.

Twins' C.J. Culpepper: On IL with forearm injury
High-A Cedar Rapids placed Culpepper on the 7-day injured list Saturday with a right forearm strain.
Culpepper was a breakout prospect for the Twins in 2023, posting a 2.33 ERA with a 53:15 K:BB in 46.1 innings at Single-A Fort Myers. He saw his numbers take a dip upon his midseason promotion to Cedar Rapids, but he had showed better results in his return to High-A in 2024 before he sustained the injury. In seven starts for Cedar Rapids covering 30.1 innings, Culpepper has submitted a 3.26 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 33:11 K:BB.
