Newcomb did not factor in the decision during a loss to St. Louis in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader. He allowed one run on six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings and struck out five batters.

Newcomb wasn't very efficient but was able to limit the damage and escape a couple of threats. He kept the Cardinals off the board until Masyn Winn's RBI single in the fourth inning. Newcomb has been tagged with 14 hits through 8.2 innings so far, resulting in a 5.19 ERA. His next start is projected to be a road matchup against the White Sox.

Estes (0-2) allowed six runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three over three innings Sunday to take the loss against the Rockies.

Estes got roughed up for a second straight start, as the Rockies tacked on runs in each inning he pitched. He surrendered a leadoff home run in the first and three more doubles before his day ended. That's now 12 runs allowed on 15 hits over his first seven innings of the season. Estes lines up for a home start against the Mets next weekend should he remain in the rotation going forward.

Dobbins (1-0) allowed two runs on eight hits over five innings in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against St. Louis. He struck out five and earned a win.

Dobbins gave up an RBI double to Brendan Donovan in the first inning and an RBI single to Masyn Winn in the fourth. Overall, Dobbins was able to keep damage limited, and Boston put up 18 runs for an easy win. He threw 63 of 93 pitches for strikes and forced 14 whiffs in his MLB debut, including six with his curveball. Dobbins will likely head back to Triple-A Worcester but could be used as a spot-starter again throughout the season.

Seager went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Rays.

Seager pushed the Rangers ahead in the sixth with a solo shot to right for his first home run and first extra base hit of the year. The lefty slugger has just two hits over his last 16 at-bats and a .179 batting average in the early going.

Robles (shoulder) is likely going to be placed on the injured list with a left shoulder injury, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

Robles suffered a left arm injury while making an acrobatic catch in the bottom of the ninth inning of Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Giants, and it's now understood to be a shoulder injury. The severity of the injury remains unknown, but if Robles does end up on the IL, Dominic Canzone is a candidate to be promoted from Triple-A Tacoma and replace him on Seattle's 26-man roster.

Rocker allowed one run on six hits while striking out one over five innings Sunday against the Rays. He did not factor into the decision.

Rocker looked much better Sunday compared to his last start. The Rays scattered six singles off him, which eventually led to a run in the fourth, but Rocker showed great improvement with his command. He finished at 77 pitches and kept the Rangers in a game they went on to win in walk-off style in the ninth. Rocker will look to take the momentum of this positive start with him on the road against the Mariners next weekend.

Criswell allowed five runs (three earned) on four hits and a walk over three innings during a win in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against St. Louis. He earned a save but did not strike out a batter.

It was far from an effective outing, but Criswell was credited with a save in the 18-7 routing of the Cardinals because of the three-inning rule. He coughed up four runs in the ninth inning, capped off by Thomas Saggese's three-run shot. Criswell owns an 8.31 ERA through 4.1 innings and is unlikely to see much high-leverage action moving forward.

Smith went 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over Tampa Bay.

Smith, who started at third base in place of the injured Josh Jung (neck), scored the game-winning run on Jonah Heim's walk-off single. Smith put himself in scoring position with a two-out double one batter prior to Heim's heroics. The steal was Smith's third over the last five games, during which he's 7-for-15 with a home run, two RBI and four runs scored. His run in the starting lineup could come to an end Tuesday, when Jung is expected to be activated.

Heim went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Rays.

Heim had a rare steal in the seventh inning and scored a run, but his greatest contribution was a walk-off single that plated Josh Smith with the game-winning run. The stolen base was Heim's first since April 15, 2024, and he's 9-for-11 in his career on stolen-base attempts. He's splitting time at catcher with Kyle Higashioka, which could benefit Heim's production. He's had issues after All-Star breaks while averaging 130 games played over the previous three seasons.

Rafaela went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, two RBI, a walk and a stolen base in a win during Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against St. Louis.

Rafaela did not appear in Game 1 but was a key contributor in Boston's 18-run onslaught during Game 2. He knocked an RBI single in the second inning and came around to score. Rafaela later singled and scored again in the third, scored a run in the sixth, and drove in one more in the seventh. He produced his first multi-hit game of the season and picked up his second steal. The 24-year-old is sporting a .200/.273/.200 slash line through 33 plate appearances.
