The White Sox placed Benintendi on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a left adductor strain.

Benintendi exited Sunday's game against the Tigers and hasn't improved enough in subsequent days to avoid the IL. Per Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times, Benintendi believes he could have played in a few days, but the team wanted to exercise caution. He should have a good shot to be activated when first eligible April 16. The White Sox have been using Brooks Baldwin and Michael Taylor in left field on days Benintendi is unavailable. The club has also recalled Greg Jones from Triple-A Charlotte, and he could factor into the mix in left field.

Rengifo is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Rays, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Rengifo will hit the bench for the first time all season after reaching base seven times over his last four games. Fletcher notes that Rengifo didn't appear to be running well during Tuesday's 4-3 win, but the Angels haven't indicated that he's dealing with an injury. Tim Anderson will occupy second base and bat eighth for the Angels on Wednesday.

Adell is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Tampa Bay.

Adell is only 2-for-19 across his last five games, so he'll get a day off to regroup. The hot-hitting Kyren Paris will start in center field and bat seventh for the Angels on Wednesday.

Moncada (thumb) will start at third base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Moncada missed the previous three contests after aggravating a right thumb injury, but he is feeling well enough to give it a go in this one. The 29-year-old is just 4-for-20 at the plate to start off his Angels career.

Garver is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Though he's been limited to just one start at designated hitter through Seattle's first 13 games, Garver could end up being the team's primary option at the position in the aftermath of Victor Robles (shoulder) landing on the IL. Luke Raley had been serving as the team's primary DH against right-handed pitching to begin the season, but he'll pick up a third straight start at Robles' spot in right field. The Mariners have deployed Jorge Polanco at DH in two of their three games versus Houston while he manages a side injury, but the spot could open up for Garver once Polanco is cleared to play third base again.

Mastrobuoni will start at second base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Mastrobuoni will pick up his second start of the season, filling in at the keystone after the Mariners placed everyday second baseman Ryan Bliss (bicep) on the 10-day injured list. Though Bliss appears headed for an extended absence, Mastrobuoni won't necessarily be the Mariners' top choice to replace him. Dylan Moore will start at third base Wednesday, but he could shift over to second base and serve as the primary option at that position once Jorge Polanco (side) -- who is serving as a designated hitter against the Astros -- is cleared to return to the infield.

Rafaela is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Blue Jays, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Rafaela appears to be getting a routine day off. Kristian Campbell will draw a start in center field Wednesday, while David Hamilton will cover second base and bat eighth for the Red Sox.

Astros manager Joe Espada said Wednesday that Arrighetti will not require surgery to repair his fractured right thumb, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Arrighetti will be in a cast for two to two and a half weeks before having imaging to see how the thumb has healed. The Astros expect to have a better idea at that point what Arrighetti's timetable for a return will look like, though general manager Dana Brown said in a radio appearance Wednesday that he anticipates that the young right-hander will be out "six weeks or so," per Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle. The hurler was injured when he was struck by a line drive while playing catch in the outfield before Monday's game in Seattle.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that Westburg is being held out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks due to an upper-body injury, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Hyde described Westburg's injury as a nagging issue that previously resulted in the infielder sitting out a March 30 loss in Toronto. However, Westburg returned to the lineup the next day and had started each of the Orioles' last eight games prior to Wednesday while going 5-for-30 at the plate. Hyde didn't seem too concerned about the issue preventing Westburg from playing in this weekend's three-game series versus the Blue Jays, so the expectation is that the 26-year-old infielder will be back in the lineup Friday following Thursday's team off day.

The Guardians recalled Martinez from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Martinez was batting .344/.324/.531 in his first eight contests with Columbus this season. The 23-year-old switch hitter had made starts at second base, center field and left field with Columbus and will provide manager Stephen Vogt with some versatility.
