The White Sox placed Tauchman on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to a right hamstring strain.

Tauchman opened the season on the shelf after straining his right hamstring late in spring training, but he was activated Sunday and had started in right field in each of the White Sox's last three games. However, Tauchman aggravated the injury while rounding third base in the ninth inning of Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Guardians, ultimately getting tagged out at the plate for what would have been a game-tying run. The severity of Tauchman's setback isn't known, but he'll go back on the IL and could be out beyond the minimum 10 days, given the recurring nature of the injury. Austin Slater will start in right field in Thursday's series finale in Cleveland, but Brooks Baldwin, Joshua Palacios and Michael Taylor could also pick up reps at the position while Tauchman is sidelined.

Robert is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Cleveland.

Robert went hitless in five plate appearances in Wednesday's loss to the Guardians, dropping his season average to .154. He'll get a breather for Thursday's series finale, yielding to Michael Taylor in center field.

Walls is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels.

Walls will get a breather for the day game after he started in each of the Rays' last three contests. Jose Caballero will pick up the start at shortstop in place of Walls, who has produced a .143/.273/.143 slash line with three stolen bases, two runs and one RBI over 33 plate appearances.

Rortvedt will start at catcher and bat ninth in Thursday's game against the Angels.

Rortvedt will enter the lineup for just the fourth time this season, with Danny Jansen drawing the other eight starts behind the plate through the Rays' first 12 games. Jansen is slashing a lowly .038/.194/.038 through his 31 plate appearances, so Rortvedt could work his way into more of a timeshare if he can provide more of an offensive spark in his future starts.

Jansen is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels.

Ben Rortvedt will get the start behind the plate while Jansen is rested for the day game after a night game. Jansen has recorded just one hit in 26 at-bats on the season, though a 16.1 percent walk rate has helped prop up his on-base percentage to .194.

Gusto is slated to start Saturday's game against the Angels in Houston, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

The 26-year-old right-hander will be making his first MLB start this weekend, filling the rotation spot that belonged to Spencer Arrighetti (thumb), who was placed on the injured list Tuesday. Gusto turned in a 3.70 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 148.1 innings in 2024 as a full-time starter at Triple-A Sugar Land, and he's been magnificent so far this season after winning a spot in Houston's Opening Day bullpen coming out of spring training. After working a scoreless frame in relief en route to scooping up his first career win in Wednesday's 2-1 victory over the Mariners, Gusto now owns a 1.13 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 9:2 K:BB across eight innings with the Astros. Gusto didn't throw more than 50 pitches in any of his four relief appearances this season nor in his four appearances in the Grapefruit League, so he could be slightly limited from a workload standpoint in his start Saturday.

Paredes went 2-for-5 on Wednesday against the Mariners.

Paredes had a slow start to his Astros' tenure, picking up only three hits across his first 23 at-bats. He's begun to turn things around by going 8-for-24 across his last five games, though he still has only one extra-base hit and no home runs.

Whitley (knee) tossed a scoreless inning Wednesday in his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Sugar Land.

Whitley got a late start to the season due to a left knee bone bruise that he suffered in early March. The big right-hander will likely require a handful of rehab outings before returning from the 15-day injured list.

Smith went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Mariners.

Smith sat consecutive games Sunday and Monday after beginning his big-league career with only two hits across 18 at-bats while striking out nine times. He's responded well since, going 3-for-7 with a triple, one run scored and two RBI in a pair of starts. Smith should remain the team's primary right fielder so long as he sticks in the majors.

Campbell started in center field and went 1-for-4 in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Toronto.

Campbell made his third outfield start Wednesday and could eventually become qualified for multiple positions for fantasy lineups. When Campbell is in the outfield, David Hamilton typically starts at second base.
