Springer (wrist) is not in the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta.

Springer had to depart Sunday's contest versus the Orioles with a left wrist injury. X-rays came back negative and he is considered day-to-day for the time being, but he will miss at least one start. Toronto is going with an outfield of Alan Roden, Myles Straw and Nathan Lukes in Monday's series opener.

Bellinger is not in the lineup for Monday's contest against the Royals.

Bellinger had started each of the previous four games after recovering from food poisoning, but he'll take a seat Monday even as the Royals send righty Seth Lugo to the hill. Trent Grisham will play center field and bat eighth in the series opener.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Stanton (elbow) continues to hit against a high-velocity Trajekt machine and is "getting close" to facing live pitching, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Stanton didn't take part in baseball activities during spring training and opened the season on the injured list after requiring three rounds of platelet-rich plasma injections to address torn tendons in both of his elbows. He resumed swinging a bat shortly before Opening Day, and while he's still experiencing some lingering pain in his elbows, it's apparently more manageable than it had been previously, according to MLB.com. Stanton will take an important step forward in the recovery process when he's officially cleared to face live pitching, but a definitive timeline for his return from the IL likely won't be established until he reaches the point that he's able to take at-bats as a designated hitter in minor-league rehab games.

The Orioles designated Gonzalez for assignment Monday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Scott Blewett, who was claimed off waivers. Gonzalez, 33, has yet to make an appearance at the major-league level and holds a 5.79 ERA and 4:4 K:BB over 4.2 frames this season with Triple-A Norfolk.

The Orioles claimed Blewett off waivers from the Twins on Monday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Blewett has not yet reported to the Orioles, but he will have to join the major-league roster because he's out of minor-league options. When Blewett does report, Baltimore will need to make a corresponding 26-man roster move. The 29-year-old has permitted one earned run with a 5:0 K:BB over 4.2 innings at the big-league level this season.

Schanuel went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against Houston in a loss Sunday.

Schanuel entered the weekend with no long balls through 13 games, but he now was two homers after going deep Saturday and Sunday. The first baseman also has a six-game hitting streak going, during which he's slashing .364/.440/.727 with a 3:3 BB:K. The hot streak has boosted Schanuel's OPS to .856 on the season; he posted a .705 OPS in his first full MLB campaign last year.

Ward went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a loss to the Astros on Sunday.

Ward led off the game with a solo shot to left field, though he struck out in three of his remaining four at-bats. The veteran outfielder has gone deep in four of his past five games, slugging five long balls during that stretch. The power surge has boosted Ward's OPS from a paltry .437 to a much more viable .759.

Soler went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to Houston.

All three of the Angels' runs in the contest came on solo homers, and Soler contributed with a blast to left field in the sixth inning. It was the fourth long ball of the season for the veteran outfielder, all of which have come in his past eight games. Soler has reached base safely in 10 straight contests and is slashing .270/.349/.622 with seven RBI during that stretch, though he also has a 30.2 percent strikeout rate in that span.

The Rays recalled Orze from Triple-A Durham on Monday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Orze had permitted just one hit and one run with a 9:0 K:BB over his first six innings with Durham this season. The 27-year-old will provide Tampa Bay with a fresh bullpen arm.

However, the Rays are sticking with their plan to return Boyle to the minors. He'll likely be first in line for a promotion when the big club needs a starter again.
