Seymour has a 2.40 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 23:3 K:BB in 15 innings across three starts for Triple-A Durham.

The only Triple-A pitcher with a higher swinging-strike rate than Seymour (19.4 percent) is Spencer Strider (22.6 percent), who was completing a rehab assignment. Seymour is a lefty with a deceptive three-quarters delivery and a knack for keeping hitters off balance by changing speeds and landing all of his pitches for strikes. His fastball has averaged 89.6 mph (touched 91.6 mph) and he has thrown his changeup as much or more than his fastball while mixing in his cutter and seldom-used curveball and sweeper. Seymour is already on the 40-man roster and could join the big-league rotation whenever there is a need.

Dubon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

With Brendan Rodgers (hip) making his return to the lineup Wednesday, Dubon will shift back into a utility role. Dubon had started at second base in each of the previous three games while Rodgers was out, going 3-for-8 with a double, two walks, two runs, an RBI and two stolen bases.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said that Scherzer (thumb) is scheduled to meet with a doctor Wednesday after throwing on consecutive days, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Scherzer experienced renewed soreness in his thumb after throwing late last week, but after a brief shutdown, the right-hander was able to start playing catch again. He'll get a checkup Wednesday from a different hand specialist than the one he had been meeting with previously with the hope that he's cleared to ramp up the intensity and volume of his throwing. Easton Lucas should continue to hold down a spot in the rotation until Scherzer is able to return from the injured list, perhaps in late April or early May if he incurs no further setbacks in the recovery process.

Lopez (hamstring) threw a bullpen session Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

The session went off without a hitch and now the Twins will wait to see how Lopez's right hamstring responds Thursday before they determine the next steps. Lopez is eligible for activation from the 15-day injured list April 24, and it's possible he's ready to go on that date if he continues to progress.

Straw will start in center field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Straw will pick up his fourth straight start while the Blue Jays remain short on alternatives in center field with Daulton Varsho (shoulder) on the injured list, Nathan Lukes (personal) on the paternity list and George Springer day-to-day with a wrist injury. To his credit, Straw has capitalized on the opportunities he's received this season, slashing .379/.419/.552 with one home run and one stolen base in 32 plate appearances. Straw's strong play might be enough for him to stick around on the big-league roster as a depth outfielder ahead of Lukes -- who has a minor-league option remaining -- once Varsho is cleared to make his 2025 debut with Toronto.

Neto (shoulder) could be activated from the 10-day injured list as soon as Thursday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Neto played a full game with Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday and hit his fourth home run in what was his 12th rehab contest. He's slated for another nine full innings with Salt Lake on Wednesday. The Angels finish up a road trip in Texas on Thursday, so it seems likelier that they'll wait until their homestand -- which begins Friday -- before activating Neto. Sunday is the final day of Neto's 20-day rehab window, so the latest he'll be activated is likely Tuesday versus the Pirates.

Wagner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

The lefty-hitting Wagner is off to a 3-for-28 start to the plate in April, and the ongoing slump has started to cost him some playing time. He'll be on the bench for the second time in the Blue Jays' last three matchups versus right-handers, with Ernie Clement getting the nod at third base as Atlanta sends Spencer Strider to the mound.

Springer (wrist) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Springer will end up going without a start in all three games of the Blue Jays' series versus Atlanta while he tends to a swollen left wrist. He could be available off the bench Wednesday, though with an off day on tap Thursday, the Blue Jays could prefer to stay away from him. If Springer's wrist is still bothering him heading into the weekend series with the Mariners, a stint on the injured list could be necessary.

The Tigers recalled Montero from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.

Montero will get a spot start Wednesday in Milwaukee as the Tigers look to provide their regular rotation members with extra rest. The right-hander was off to a nice start with Toledo, permitting three runs with an 11:1 K:BB over 9.2 frames covering his first two outings.

McKinstry is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Milwaukee, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

The lefty-swinging McKinstry will grab a seat as left-hander Jose Quintana toes the slab for the Brewers. McKinstry has been seeing most of his playing time in right field lately, but that spot will be covered by Justyn-Henry Malloy in Wednesday's series finale.
